crux of the argument.
There is no argument, and anyone that tries to make one (either way) is beating a dead horse.
Miles and Saban have both proven to be winners in their coaching careers at multiple stops along the way, albeit with drastically different "styles." It's pretty much as simple as that. Any other commentary on either of their coaching abilities is simply lagniappe.
LSU fans should feel fortunate to have landed both coaches at the time they did. The LSU program has benefitted greatly from the style and timing of both coaches.

Les will be lucky to be third on the list after this year

Just for fun, what if CLM and LSU win 11 out of 12 regular season games and CRR is fired at the Big House, and CLM leaves LSU for said Big House. How would you feel about him then? And would that make him a better coach in your eyes?

This board is full of haters.
Go whine somewhere else.

last season LSU benefitted greatly from playing vandy, tulane, and louisiana tech and needed a miracle rally against troy in 2008 to avoid a 6-6 regular season ..
eta: LSU's 8-8 the last two seasons in the SEC also ...

How is that different from Fla playing Charleston So, FIU, and Troy or Alabama playing FIU, No Tex, and Chattanooga, you fricking hater.
You are as dumb as dirt.

because saban left us some fricking talent when he left who had the principles in their head of a good coach

You knows I kinda like Miles and think he is better than people give him credit for. I also want results. His coach hires over the last two years make me think he can change and improve the team. He doesn't need this board to know he has to improve seriously.
Getting rid of Perrilloux was a large part of all these problems; however, that is usually a one year excuse. Personally i do think it impacted our program and, more importantly, the coaches thinking and the way they developed Jefferson.
Having said all of that I truly expect to be eviscerated by people on this board for these opinions. Like all of you, I want a great program. We have all gotten a little greedy over the years with our success. What I want to see is a competetive team who can play to the best of their potential.
Ok, tear into me.

in addition to these teams, they beat good teams along the way. LSU hasn't the past 2 years

We still have very comparable talent. The issue is the talent Miles first 3 seasons and the principles you mention. Crowton and studs def. are not helping.........

compare 2005-2007 to 2008-2009

we've won more games
but we've had the 12 game regular season every year under miles. no other coach got that advantage

dumb as dirt you stupid frick ?? facts, you stupid frick ? one of the teams you listed above -- troy -- almost beat us at home .. we lose that game we go 6-6 .. last season, vandy, tulane, and la. tech straight up sucked .. and, i forgot about that ULL juggernaut that was a dropped pick 6 away from making a game of it against us ... that was FOUR penciled in wins .. so LSU goes 5-4 against the rest of the schedule ??
dumb as dirt ?? dumb as dirt is your moronic comparison to alabama that won the 2009 NC and has gone 26-2 over the last two years and florida, which has gone 26-2 also over the last two years with the 2008 NC ... dumb as dirt ?? yeah, douchebag ..

Take Saban's dick out of your mouth, d'bag. He's been gone since 2004, troll.

But do you blame the President for everything thats wrong? Or do Congress (asst coaches) and the citizens (the players) deserve some of that blame too?
What an idiotic analogy. The President doesn't appoint Congress and recruit citizens, so of course he isn't responsible for their actions. A head coach controls who coaches and who plays on a football team, so he is responsible for their performance.

are you arguing that he did NOT leave us stacked with talent for 2005-2007?

There are extremely few examples of a coach who inherited an elite team, then took it down to mediocrity, then returned it to elite status.
