Without a doubt, Miles is the best coach LSU has ever had in any sport.

Nah...Bertman and Saban were better...but you're close.

Not yet...Bertman deserves one first....but then again, we're not Bama.

Anyone watching this team the last two seasons can tell Miles has this program going in the right direction.

The last two years regular seasons:

08=7-5, 7th in the SEC, national ranking none

09=9-3, 3rd in the SEC, national ranking

I'm forced to agree with you bout the right direction and we can only hope that direction continues into 10.

Well I mean those numbers can be a bit deceptive. I mean Saban took over 2 Programs (LSU/Bama) that were technically rebuilding. Yes each team had talent when he took over but they lacked depth and did not have as much talent as some would believe.

Saban turned those two teams around andI find it remarkable he has such a high winning percentage considering both of his jobs were suppose to be turn around jobs.

Miles for all intents and purposes walked into a team that had talent and depth. No they were not a Top 5 team like people say but they had top 5 talent. What he has done in 5 years can not be denied he has given LSU a success not seen before in school history.

However in my opinion what Saban has done has been more remarkable. Mainly because he turned LSU and Alabama around so fast and made them both into nationally recognized schools again. LSU had it lowest point in the years prior to Saban and Alabama fans can say prior to Saban they were at some of their lowest points.

let's not see a saban vs. miles argument. miles supporters have made themselves look foolish enough in this thread.

Sorry that you can't support the current staff and team but will make damn sure that people remember Saban. Quit living in the past. Saban is gone. If you are a fan of LSU football, why not support the team instead of constantly bashing them and making sure Saban gets praised?

ETA: Im not aiming this just at you personally, just the sect of fans that makes sure that anytime Miles is talked about, Saban must be mentioned and credited with everything. Miles can't win with this certain sect of the Rant.

IMO bashing the coach is bashing the team and program. Negative vibes from the fanbase do NOTHING at all to help anything.

Especially insulting the coaching staff's intelligence on a constant basis. Can't help with perception of the program and future recruiting.

Actually neither does being positive on a message board. When you go to a game it is the positive and negative fans that are leaving at the half or end of third quarter.
I am sure LSU is more concerned with money than if the fans like Miles or not. They know this is a business and if Miles wins 10 games next year he will silence his critics. If he wins 8 then more "positive" people will turn into negative ones.

Miles has never had a season with less than 2 SEC losses.

les miles is not LSU. he is a hired gun and the program will be around long after he is done coaching. people like you supported curly hallman in his final days and didn't say a word against him.

and i'm not the one creating the negative vibes. lord miles and the on the field product he has been producing lately are the cause of his problems. he need only look in the mirror and some of the decisions he's made if he wants to know why fans are becoming negative. in the end internet messagboards don' destroy teams, it's on the field performance and coaching decisions.

I'm not directly on the other end of the spectrum like you think. I do not think Miles is the best coach. My point is that the constant bashing, insults, and saban envy that people throw out on this board doesn't help anything. If Miles has another bad year then he needs to go. I just think there is a better way to let him go then the what flaming torch ranters would want to do if thats what it came to.

But I still think there is an opportunity for this staff to turn things around. I don't think I'm an apologist. I'm just hopeful about the upcoming season and I choose not to look at things so pessimistic.

actually i think complaining about miles here is probably the best and most healthy option of all. fans bitch, they always have and always will. i don't understand why you think we are unique in this situation.

You say that the bashing, insults, and Saban envy does not help anything. However the opposite is true with that. I mean it is a message board neither negative nor positive reactions from fans do anything because this site makes of the minority.

When you get mad about what people are typing whether positive or negative you need to just chill and remember not everyone will agree and you are not going to change anyones opinion.

and to use the recycled analogy, does someone bitching about the president mean they hate america? is anyone who's ever protested against the president's decision automatically bashing the country as a whole? of course not, that would be ridiculous. we seem to be in a similar situation here.

I read many other team's message boards and I am sure other boards probably patrol the comments more but I have yet to find another team's board with the constant bashing of coaches by calling them retards and whatever else people say on here.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am not trying to get people to think the way I do about things. I just think their are better ways to discuss the football team. People should and will vent but constant personal attacks are a little much.
