Who, if he signs this next February, will be a RS freshman when he's called upon to contribute in the 2012 season.
if Lee is gone
Even if Lee is here, we'll still need a backup. Being the backup is contributing, and this new signee, a RS freshman, will be called upon to do it.

Who, if he happens to be a 4-star (like J. Lee, Jefferson and Garrett) or even a 5-star (like R. Shepard), has no better chance of developing into a QB than any of those guys did.
your opinion, we'll see
What is going to be different about this unknown guy we haven't signed yet from the other four 4/5-star guys we've signed from 2007 through 2009? This staff is 0-for-4 over that time period in evaluating/recruiting/developing QBs. Why is that going to suddenly change?

Yes, after the damage is done. I guess preventing a disaster from happening in the first place is just too much to ask of this staff.

I'm not worried about 2012. Worried about 2010!!!!! What happens if JJ gets hurt? What then? I admire JL for his courage and dedication, I just seen him struggle to many times. See La Tech 2009, if u need reference.

If Zach Lee ends up coming, as it appears, and we can sign a QB in this class, we'll be fine at QB.
2010 - Jr Jefferson/Jr Lee/Fr Lee
2011 - Sr Jefferson/Sr Lee/So Lee/ (redshirt the QB signed in 2011 class)
2012 - Jr Lee/RS Fr ??/Fr ?? (QB signed in 2012 class may end up being the #3 guy this year)
2013... Best Case: Sr Lee/So ??/ ... Worst Case: No Lee/So ??
We've got plenty of time to rectify this situation
Step 1: Aug 16
Step 2: sign a QB or 2 in this 2011 class
Step 3: QBs in the 2012 class will be uber-important
2010 - Jr Jefferson/Jr Lee/Fr Lee
2011 - Sr Jefferson/Sr Lee/So Lee/ (redshirt the QB signed in 2011 class)
2012 - Jr Lee/RS Fr ??/Fr ?? (QB signed in 2012 class may end up being the #3 guy this year)

as long as JJ and JLee are 1&2, I'm not sure we'll be 'fine'...

Good point, but I think JJ and JLee are, at a minimum, adequate (with a significant upside). IMO we can have very successful seasons in 2010 and 2011 with some combination of JJ/JL if we get solid defense and a better running game.
Jefferson actually exceeded my expectations in 2009. Granted, my expectations for him were low going into the season, but I thought he did ok being his first full season as the starting QB. I believe he'll have a solid year this year barring injury. He has taken way too much criticism this offseason, most of which is undeserved and merely a byproduct of people upset about our overall offensive production last season. I have a feeling the game is going to "slow down" significantly for him this year. And if not, I'm totally cool with giving Lee another shot ... one of those two guys can get the job done IMO.

RP would not be here now no matter what had happened. The mess we're in now has nothing to do with Ryan Perrilloux.
but he would have been here the last two. Which means we would have no idea what we are in store for this year.
shite happens. Get over it.

what the f was the point of UF having Brantley sitting on his arse while Tebow was playing? Are you this stupid? Or you prefer what LSU went through the last two years at the QB pos.? Wasn't it nice when after JR LSU had Flynn still on the team?
wait, so now you are sayin that had we had the qb tha was supposed to take over we would have been in better shape?
WTF is going on here?

all I know is RP doesn't frick up he possibly leads LSU to another title because he had the skill level, that kid ruined his careeer being and growing up around the wrong people, when in limited action while playin with Flynn, he was smooth as hell, he could have shown Jefferson who is so terrible at running the option how to do it correctly. and to top it off, he had a cannon arm throwing the tighest spirals, look up that pass to and LSU receiver against Tenn in the SECCG in the corner of the endzone, that was a frozen rope kind of throw. That's Talent!

I won't disagree with you there. Not completely at least.
Maybe Miles didn't spend enough time looking after him. Maybe RP was just that much of a frick up. I don't know. Jamarcus seemed to do alright with Miles, now look at him. All I am saying is that none of us know anything.

Miles' aplogists on the QB situation...
just like having no QB didn't effect LSU the last two yrs. Give me something believable at least
Wait,I thought it was Miles' and Crowton's fault the QBs were not up to par. Kind of like Stoops not doing much last yr with Landry or Carroll with Barkley.
Why are you worried about lack of experience at QB? According to the Miles' bashers you should be able to stick a first yr QB in the lineup w/o having to limit the offense and score at will!
