By making this statement you are assuming that all five star rated players are only interested in immediate playing time. i hate to tell you but some kids go to school for other reasons. immediate playing time is not the only thing to be offered at lsu.

I understand what the OP is trying to say. If a 5 star freshman proves to be more talented/valuable to the team then a current junior/senior, then it does not matter because the junior/senior will still get more playing time then the freshman. Yes we've had Shepard and Randle play this year, and other past true freshman. But my deal is that Miles seems reluctant to let a true freshman pass up an upperclassmen on the depth chart. Have you noticed Shepard only runs on 2nd down? Why not give him more responsibility? Let him run on 3rd down and pick up a first.

All I am saying is that maybe we should give true freshman a bigger role in the offense. I have yet to see Crowton take advantage of a Lafell, Tolliver, Randle WR lineup. Why not let Randle get as much PT as possible? He's made some cluch catches.

Not the point of the thread, but I found this intresting the other day.

5 star Recruits of 2005 More Likely to Be Arrested Than Drafted

In 2005, Rivals.com ranked 28 men as five-star football recruits. The players were the cream of the crop, the top football players in America. They signed to play for top teams across the country, from USC to Miami, Penn State to Oklahoma.

There was just one problem: Turns out they were more likely to be arrested than drafted by the NFL.

In the 2009 draft, seven of these 28 men were drafted. Four more left early and were drafted in the 2008 draft. That means there have been 11 draft picks from the 2005 five-stars. Amazingly, that's less than the number of men who have been arrested, 14. If you ever doubted whether being obsessed with college football recruiting was fool's gold, keep this stat in mind: In 2005, five-star recruits were more than twice as likely to be arrested (14) as drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft in 2008 or 2009 (six). There haven't been this many wasted hours on the Internet since first year lawyering.

the probably with that is that it simply is not true. people here seem to think that since we have a new 5 star freshman he must be better then the 5 star that we had from last year for some reason. that is why this thread/topic is stupid.

and all i am saying is if we were doing that half you peole would be complaining about the fact that our teams suck so much that we have to put true freshmen in the game.

So you don't think Randle is more talented then Mitchell or Jackson? You are also fine with Shepard getting 2-3 carries per game? When our running game needs all the help it can get.

Our offense is currently the worst in the SEC. If we gave Shepard and Randle more chances would that really hurt anything?

He has been all over the field, but LSU fans QB JJ, doesn't like to throw him the ball, same goes for Richard Dickson. Dickson and Randle must not be tight with JJ

probably wouldn't help. who knows. the coaches see whats going on in practice. do you?

are they really getting that much more playing time than randle? maybe at the start of the year but now?

i would like it if he could get more touches. but then i don't study the opposing teams like the coaches do.

this isn't xbox.

its now Les Miles' fault that Randle is either

A) not getting open

or

B) not being see by JJ

i have said it twice. yes. why can't i use the same comment more than once when you people get to keep bring up the same tired arguments multiple times a day?

if they are the best option then i agree. but we have only lost 2 games. it isn't time to throw away our starters. and i have used that line because you people seem to think that real life is like xbox.

god grow up.
