With the money he is making no one would top it and get him to leave. The same can pretty much be said for 9 of the 12 other coaches in the SEC. The money the SEC schools pay coaches is absurd.

I agree. Doesn't he have an 18 M dollar buyout or something like that?

No, that is only if LSU fires him, not if someone else comes calling.

ETA: I'm not in favor of him getting fired, but if someone were to pull him away, I wouldn't be mad.

This is how I believe it will play out: RR gets one more year at UM (whether or not it works out is another story). Meyer gets pursued hard by ND after they fire Cheeseburger Charlie for going 7-5 but Meyer will stay after UF gives his a few more mil for winning another title. LM ensures he stays at LSU by going 9-3 during the regular season, 10-3 after the bowl. After an 8-5/9-4 season in 2010, LM finally is officially on the hot seat and is given one more year. If he goes, it's becasue RR failed at UM. If RR stays, LM rides senior JJ and his #1 2009 recruiting class to a 10 or 11 win season and then he does whatever the hell he wants to do. But that's just me, who knows what really happens.

I think it's either 18.25 or 18.75, but it's up to that amount. People were explaining his contract the other day and contracts in general, and if some other school were to hire him within a reasonable time, the buyout would usually be reduced. On top of that, I think the university has four years to pay the buyout.

The Negatigers will have to destroy LSU's recruiting program to get rid of Miles.

They might run off the state's #1 recruit every year, but it's going to take more than to get rid of the Hat.

Miles wouldnt leave LSU for more money. If it was any other school than Michigan that would come calling, I would completely agree with you. But Miles is a MIchigan man and I think Michigan could drag him in even for les money.

Man we all luv Les Miles & our Tigers... wish them well........there isn't much to choose from......Miles is a very good coach..don't see him leaving.....paid to much!! BUT with the enormous amount of talent he's had....he's not great...then as long as tiger faithfuls are happy with two losses or more seasons........then so be it.....Miles will always have a edge in recruiting because LSU is a stepping stone to the pro's

Losing the so-called #1 recruit in the state this year is painless. Not sure how the kid got that label but best of luck to him.

I have yet to see how the Miles has to go fervor has gotten this far. Now, if LSU tanks the last two I could see it. But not after a 2-3 loss season.

I am no Miles "apologist" by any means, in fact have been called anti Miles on here, but unless the wheels fall off again its pretty much a moot point to wish him gone.

Why should he and why would any reasonable LSU fan want him to at this point in time?

After 5 yrs he has the best winning % in school history. I know we have some who feel they can see into the future and are predicting doom and gloom, but those are the same ones who also were predicting another sup-.500 SEC record this season and another year of being unranked in the final polls. We all can see how those two predictions have worked out for them, huh.

i hope not. our "sky is falling" fans will have to be patient. my concern is definately the offense; it sputtered last yr yet scored a lot more points than this year. the "sputtering" has intensifyed. it has to drive coach miles nuts. there's a reason he doesn't go for it on 4th down anymore. i sincerely believe that he will make some changes this offseason; whether it be OC, position coaches or schemes, i don't know.
