If his bat doesn’t improve you can guarantee he won’t be playing. But Johnson is prioritizing working with Milazzo to improve him. If he improves he’s the starter. If he doesn’t then you may see Priester or McManus start there.

If his bat doesn’t improve he won’t play but I’m saying it does.

I don’t think Coach would have mentioned Milazzo if he didn’t think he could work with him

If Milazzo hits .250 we win the CWS.

Coach speak

He hasn’t even seen these kids in person. What is he supposed to say? I want to shake people that actually read into shite like that

But he sure the hell has added two legit catching options in the last 10 days, hoss.

McManus didn’t/couldn’t start at Samford, so how is he magically coming to LSU to start?

Legit options? Really? Have you looked at McManus’s defensive stats? Have you looked at how many games he played behind the dish for them? Kaden Dreier was their starting catcher.

Priester is NOT coming in here and playing infront of one of the best defensive catchers in the country unless Milazzo continues to be really bad at the plate. If he’s even decent he’s the starter.

Right. You can sacrifice a couple tens of points in batting average if you are an elite defensive catcher. You can’t, on the other hand, sacrifice half a players worth in batting average. He has to improve. But, if he can improve, with the rest of this roster, this offense will be dangerous.

He started 21 games at catcher this past year.

I expect Milazzo to be your opening day starter barring injury

Milazzo might have had a better OPB had he just crowded the plate, not swung and hoped to get hit or walked.

Nap, just reading your comments over the last few weeks, I feel you have a bias towards the carry over guys. Not saying that’s good or bad.

While he may end up starting GM1, it’s very clear that he is on notice. Y’all said this past season he wouldn’t come out of the lineup regardless, and sure enough they started to sit him, and that would have continued had Travinski not gotten hurt.

So he has no wiggle room. He has to hit. Just glancing, he’s hitting .133 this summer. So it needs to happen, & fast.

Where is my bias towards anyone? I’m just not drinking out of the company water fountain or buying coaches talk like you say. How many transfers actually work out? More fail than succeed. You are thinking every new recruit or transfer is the best thing since sliced bread. One thing I didn’t like about PM was the hype he put on incoming kids. Let them prove they can play here first
