Mike the Tiger being available for the game should be up to his trainers and keepers, and Mike himself. Whether our chances of winner or better with him, the health of Mike is more important

Awesome. Starve him so he can go to a football game. FWIW, starving a tiger is a good way to get your fricking head ripped off by him.

I think some people are a little to sensitive and maybe are taking some things a tad too literal...geez... lighten the frick up...no one is going to make Mike do anything...although I do agree with some of the previous posters...if he doesn't like crowds then maybe it isn't a bad idea to get another tiger that doesn't have such a hard time in that atmosphere...

I'd like to no how many games he's missed due to various problems. I'm not aware of these type problems with former tigers. Pretty much load up and go to the game.

I thought he was pretty ok when when we brought him out last year. He was playing with the crowd and everything.

Why can't they build him a bigger cage already. He is almost twice the size of the old tiger. You can't tell me taf doesn't have the funds. The problem is the trailer not the tiger.

They tried that last year and it didn't work. Cats are not like dogs. They won't just eat whatever the frick you throw at them.

Its because they didn't put enough pepper on the steak. Tigers love pepper, they HATE cinnamon!

get in the cage, Mike, and do your part. You are a part of LSU TRADITON AND HISTORY. Don't let us down-not now-not for this game

it's not like you will know ahead of time if a tiger doesn't like the crowds.

Do you want LSU to put an ad on Craigslist ?

Hell, I guess that 3 million dollar crib is so nice he doesn't want to leave it even for an evening in Tiger Stadium in front of Ninety-some -odd- thousand fans. We need to recruit a "party tiger."

I agree 100% with this post.

It's not like Mike would die just because he finds it unpleasant. I'm sure he'd prefer to be roaming free in Asia or Africa hunting Zebras and shite, but life sucks sometimes. My dog hyperventilates every time we drop him off at daycamp - which is like 3 times a week. But he has to sack up and deal with it. As should Mike for a measly 8 hours a year.

As for getting him into the cage, just cut back on his food 50% the day before the game. It's not like that would be cruel - it would just give him a little extra motivation to follow the bloody meat into his mobile cage.

You guys are strange - you act like we'd literally have to "STARVE" him to get him to respond to a special treat.

I remember reading he was a **** Tiger on scout.com when he was coming out of an Indiana reserve for rescued exotic pets.

Perhaps he was never SEC mascot material - and for that I guees you could blame the veterinary staff that recruited him. I believe that he has yet to reach his full potential and has not found a scheme which best suits his talents.

But the truth is he is in his 3rd year, it's put up or shut up time.
