Mickey made poor choice.

Debatable b/c i think he got one of the largest deals ever for a 2nd rd pick with a good amt of guaranteed money. Doubtful he was gonna end up a lottery guy

Mickey wasn't ever going to become a lottery pick. He made the right choice. He's currently getting paid to play basketball. If he catches on in the league, great for him. If not, he can always come back and get his degree. No-brainer.

Because being a college athlete, especially in a top athletic program such as LSU, is so hard. OMG, I had to wake up and go to class, life is unfair.

Where did I say it was hard or unfair? He's currently being paid roughly a million dollars a year to play basketball. You don't think that's a step up from where he was last year?

always was of the mind that if a player improves dramatically many more times than not it's because he decided to put in the time and put in the work to do so.

Coaches can encourage and give them some drills, etc., but I've always been of the mind it mostly comes from within.
I agree and have said it before. At least half of the things people get on coach for should be on player. Shooting free throws, blocking out on rebounds, making poor lazy passes. Every coach emphasizes and teaches those things. If it happens in a game it is on the player. However, a coach can teach good footwork, new moves around the basket, whether to fight through a screen or not, how to play defense, etc.

Stringer's shot choice and moves notably improved as well as his passing and penetration. I think coaching had something to do with that although I agree there was some personal hard work in the mix also.

The Celtics announced the signing Monday but did not disclose the terms, per team policy. According to the source, the second-round pick's deal will contain two guaranteed years at about $2.4 million with team options for the following seasons. The contract is believed to be one of the largest ever for a second-round pick.

He made the right choice financially

Mickey got run out of town after the tournament loss harder than people are trying to get rid of Miles. And it was the same people who probably didn't watch a game until we made the dance anyway. Yeah he pretty much shite the bed, but gtfo with your pathetic lives trying to bring the man down. You don't think he felt worse than anybody about it?

Without Mickey, that team doesn't make the tournament last year. Martin got in foul trouble way too many times and Mickey carried the team in those games.

There is nothing wrong with thinking that way as long as you don't get on a coach for lack of player development. Which, at least in this thread, you have not.

Player development in and of itself is not a main concern with CJJ for me. I think if you have players who are self motivated they will improve individual facets of their game no matter who the coach is.

It's more a general overall program development, a lack of accountability that leads to the same issues over and over and over.

Is CJJ learning and improving on that front. I've yet to see a lot of evidence to show that, but all I can do is hope he is. Cause I think he'll be here for awhile.
