You have clearly never been to Ann Arbor. Frequently rated as the top college town in America and most educated city in America

Haha, I’ve been there at least 3 times. I traveled for a living for years and hit college towns a LOT. A2 is no exception and I stand by my statements. The campus and surroundings are uninspired and boring. Who votes that place as a top college town, blind librarians? Yes I am well aware if it’s academic being. I dated a current UM professor that is well known.

I’ve been to Ann Arbor a millions times, dating back to the 80’s. I’ve had a lake house in Michigan for 25 years, and I use to stop in Ann Arbor on my way up all the time. I quit stopping there bc the town just sucks. Went to a wrestling camp there several years in my younger days. Good wrestling program, but the town was, and still is, garbage. Honestly, and this is just an opinion (not an insult), it’s very ugly and very boring. UM is a good school academically, but it’s in a crap town to say the least. I’d love to know what criteria was used to decide it’s ridiculous ranking as “the top college town in America” , if that’s even true. Hell, Ohio University in Athens puts Ann Arbor to shame, and that’s not saying much. Your crap rivals in Ohio State (Columbus) absolutely blows Ann Arbor away. And there’s simply no comparison to LSU.
