First of all, the player makes the number famous not the other way around.
Second of all, I dont care if he made up a number like 58.76 just as long as he lives up to the hype or is a solid contributor.
If he does what he needs to do then everyone will be looking forward to number 42 being on the field and will miss it when he's gone.

Chris Warren was a real solid NFL RB for a long time with Seattle that wore 42.
