yes. but his legs look the part. You don't want those too big either. Plus you don't want to strain or injure the knees. Squating 600 pounds imo is not good for anybody much less a running back.

As I've said many times in the past, Ford loves the weightroom. He routinely benched over 400 pounds in high school. His work ethic is what separates him from most RBs.

what about his lower body work ethic? most kids have a work ethic when it comes to bench, its lower body work ethic that separates football players.

Where did you get this 600 lb squat figure?

Totally disagree, if you are able to handle 600lbs on the squat with correct form and explosion, imagine what you are capable of when meeting a 225lb LB in the hole when you have leverage........

The most important muscles in football regardless of position are your legs.

yes but unless you are 300-400 lbs it is WAY too much weight even with perfect form through your lumbar spine, hips, knees, etc etc etc

also guys almost NEVER do 600 lbs with correct form

sorry i'm looking at it as a physical therapist not a coach...

8-9/10 you are going to screw something up doing this much weight... maybe not the first time or the second time but you DEFINITELY will

WHERE did 600 lbs come from?

I only saw that posited by another poster in this thread.

Also, I assume Tommy Moffet <sp?> is well aware of what is safe and effective for the young man.

And that's why my back hurts every day now. Didn't squat 600 in high school, but way too much for my frame.

Germans.

I said during the Bryce Brown/Trent Richardson/Whoever else drdrama last year that we were set at RB with Mike Ford.

If Skike wasn't such a fricknut, or if Ford was from Lafayette. Michael Ford would have been rated MUCH higher last year.

He is the Truth.

yeah...there are lots of ways to work on explosive strength/power (plyo, resistance running, etc) along with smart weight training that will definitely do the job (especially when you have the genetics of a michael ford)

don't know where the 600 pound squat came from. He squats around 450 in workouts.
