I saw Ole' Mel pick Mettenberger as his "sleeper" for the heisman before the start of last season, so, I will take this as a good sign for Mett this year.

Gawd I hope "Scone-man" isn't inciting rantardness. I was a little surprised at a few of the names on the bottom of the list but still.

1. What has Mett done to prove otherwise?
2. Kiper is an idiot and always wrong.
3. He could easily be top 10, maybe even pushing top 5 when season is over.

Why would Mett get drafted at all?

What round would you draft Mett in the NFL draft?

he's a 6'5 240lb QB that can make all the throws and is currently being coached up by an Ex-NFL OC that coached drew brees, phillip rivers, and joe flacco.

On CBS Sorts, Mett is #4. Some body is blowing hot air.LINK

Just checked their 2013 draft projections right before the 2013 draft. These same people had Geno Smith in the first round (he went 2nd), Matt Barkley round 1-2 (he went 4th) and EJ Manuel round 1-2 (he went 1st, #16 overall) but CBS had him behind Smith and Barkley. This was the day of the draft. Now this 2014 projection is almost a year away. Anything can happen.

LSU doesn't have a good rep for QBs.

Outside of Matt Flynn, who else we got? Jamarcus Russell? Exactly.

Mett has to prove himself worthy

so Mett goes undrafted?

a 6'5 230 QB with a rocket arm?

yeah its hilarious.

Also will have Cam Cameron for a year which the NFL teams will love.

If he has an average year he will be drafted in in the top 4 rounds. Bad year, bottom 3.

If he has a GREAT year, round 1.

ETA:

I'm not saying he is a top 10 college QB, but the NFL drafts on potential and physical tangibles as much as anything else. He has those those things better than most QBs in the country.

If NFL coaches and general managers paid the slightest bit of attention to Mel Kiper, maybe Mettenberger should give it a little consideration.
Or not.

Mett is a guy who could be polished into a mainstay in the NFL and I think the Patriots would take him because he fits the Tom Brady type mold.

Are you kidding me? He has shown NOTHING up to this point. Im optimistic as any about this season, but let's quit talking like we've got a Heisman trophy candidate on our hands here. And then you compare him to a Tom Brady type player. Mettengberger "seems" like the spoiled rich entitled brat and has shown no type of fire and passion like Brady does every Sunday, and I dont even like Brady.

He has all the talent except leader ship. I too think he acts like a spoiled brat. Hope he changes this year but I will wait & see.

But yeah there aren't 17 QBs would go in the draft left alone 15 that would go before him. Mett is a guy who could be polished into a mainstay in the NFL and I think the Patriots would take him because he fits the Tom Brady type mold. They probably trade Mallet and draft him to take over after 3 years.

Um no. He doesnt compare well to Tom Brady at all

Hes much more Flacco esque
