Well then Clowney is going to man rape him come Oct 13th because he's 10X's more athletic. Bad combo or not but he will see DE's just as good on every SEC squad save Vandy, Missouri, Kentucky and Ole Miss.

......Lemonier is not typical.

Josh D made him look 4 times better than he actually is. He's not the same tier as Clowney, Sam, Mingo, Jarvis Jones (when his hand is in the dirt), or Alabama's maulers.

The problem is #68 Josh Dworaczyk. That guy got blown up every single play at LT. I mean every passing play he was getting turnstiled.
I didn't forget Hurst either. A couple times the DL pushed him down. He got pancaked.
The tackles are the offenses problem
Again, don't forget 72. If those tackles don't get their act together, we won't beat Fla, Bama, SC, or Miss St.

Sorry, he really is.

Yeah, by comparison to Josh D. Lets just stop with anointing him All-SEC.

you realize he was All SEC last yr and preseason this yr, right?

Hurst wasn't near as bad but he was eating dirt last night as well. Josh D's performance gave T-Bob a run for his money for worst single game performance.

I don't doubt that but one player shouldn't affect an entire offense.

Lemonier is first team All-SEC in 2011
Also, Josh D isn't a tackle....he's a guard. THey are using him at LT because we don't have another option ready yet. THe most logical move seems to be Vadal in at RT and move Hurst over to LT, but half our OL are playing different positions than what they are accustomed to. OL has never been a weak spot for LSU because we actually have good OL coaches. Let them do their job. If you can see it, then they are already working on solutions.

My error then. We should have known better then to expect a backup to be solely responsible.

Nick Fairley laughs at this

i don't agree with the superb accuracy comment. it's definitely better than last year, but he hung Landry out to dry last night for sure...among others.

cool. back to the topic at hand; how do we get a new LT in there?

He is an elite DE no matter what you say.
JD struggled in one-on-one situations with him on some pass plays. Fact.
But you guys literally only look for the bad plays in the game. JD and Collins routinely blew the defensive line backwards in the run game last night. Watch the tape. And there was adequate pass protection most of the time. Sure, JD got beat a few times, but for Christ's sake, don't act like you know what you are talking about because you saw him give up pressure. If you want to critique his play or anyone else on the OL, you should go back and watch EVERY play.

Great OP. I don't know if we intended to kick to McCalleb (sp?) or not.
W.r.t. LT, I don't know what the answer is, but we let it completely disrupt our O and apart from chipping him with a RB, our play-calling didn't seem to attempt much to counter the pass rush.
I really thought JD would excel at LT but he was completely mismatched last night.
BTW, another "awesome" is the continuing play of Micah Eugene.

LSU went on the road and faced a talented Auburn team in the first SEC game of the year for LSU, and won. It was a sloppy game and there were quite a few mental mistakes, but I think most people are overreacting and trying to project the performance to UF, USC, and Alabama is a waste of time.
Once you sort through all of the chicken little bullshite, I think most logical fans will agree. Take JD for example - on obvious passing downs he struggled against a 1st-team all SEC DE. It happens. The coaches will game plan around that going forward with the RB chipping in to help. There is no shame in that and it certainly does not mean JD sucks. Or Hurst for that matter. For the most part, the OL was very effective in the running game, but that is overlooked because of 5-7 plays where Mett got pressure. Relax.

Corey was a 4 star and top 3 wde. Clowney is the best we will face, even bama's de's are not as good.
