I think it's a direct indication that Miles has lost at least some control. And why no reaction from Miles? If he did react they never showed it on tv. I just don't understand the lack of care, especially during that final series.

He missed a critical read and he knows it. Cost us 7 points in a back and forth game. He'll do pretty good in the pros if he continues to study film.

I have to admit, as much as I enjoy when Bama beats LSU, seeing Mett lying there in pain on the field bothered me.
No way his O-line should have let him get rocked like that.
They should have held, hands to the face, whatever it took to protect him. First job is to protect the QB at all costs.

Can you imagine what Saban would put Bama's O-line through if that happened to McCarron....

Porter was getting his @ss kicked for what seemed like the entire game. He was in the backfield so often Mett could have handed him the ball.

Mett has every right to be pissed at the entire group for laying out on him. No effing pride on the part of the OL.

Could not agree more with you. Your starting QB is one of your biggest assets. Do you think a top recruit will want to play for a team after seeing that kind of performance from an offensive line?

Please consider this. If JJ had produced the results Mett has, what would fans be saying about JJ? I guarantee the fans would not be figuratively holding his hand and making excuses for him.

Mett had a barely decent game against Alabama this year. He threw four should-have-been, count them, three incomplete passes, and one that was eventually miraculously a completion, that were right into the hands of an Alabama defender... lucky he didn't end with 5 interceptions on the night. And Unlike McCarron, he could not roll away from pressure or run at all. And then he blew off his coach, line, everyone else, in what looked like a tantrum that no one felt like putting up with.

Did you know that JJ had a better winning percentage, and better completions, etc., than Mett? So why all the sympathy for him, and blame for JJ? Frankly? Mett hasn't produced doodly squat as a starting QB. And those sacks... well, how about rolling away from the pressure, or not throwing it directly into CJ Mosley's hands. wait....

Guess you didn't bother to read the post. Like I said... if JJ had produced these results, you would be calling for him to be drawn and quartered. Why are you giving this guy a pass while blaming coach, play calling, OL, running game, and every other facet of the team?

Not tooting any team's horn, just bringing some much needed reality into the discussion of Mett as a QB. I am not a fan of Mett, true, but fan or no, the attitude he displays, the way he isolates himself on the bench, (has a special corner with personal "aide") the way no one will interact with him, etc., ... and his physical failings, make him a suspect QB. He too should be called out. So far, everyone is treating him as the wronged fair hair child. BS.

We expected JJ to scramble, we expect Mett to be protected. Whats your defense of JJ have to do with anything?

I don't know how the stories will be written about mett after he departs. You can say the o line quit but he missed travis dixon for a td in the 4th. That was the exact same thing he did in the florida game, he had gordon running wide open down the middle of the field but he was locked on beckham/landry. it just seems to me when his first read isn't there.....everything falls to pieces....He is a decent qb,,,but he is the type of qb LSU defenses used to feast on. Blitz the hell out of him, get him off of a spot and wait for him to make a mistake.

Flat out quit. You could see Hawkins yelling at Porter when he let Pagan walk right past him.
I told you guys before the season started that Elliot Porter was not an SEC calibur Center and that he and the rest of the OL wouldn't hold up once we hit the SEC meat. There it is. It's not only about how big you are, how strong you are or how quick you are. If you can't play freaking technique, know your assignments and play together as one unit, you're gonna get your arse kicked against teams like Bama.

Some of you just don't "Get It" in regards to OL play. Remember so many of the Fartknockers getting on here and spewing out all that nonsense back in the summer about how awesome our OL was going to be. I just sat there . Knew it wasn't going to happen and it's come to pass. OL is also one area of the program that could definitely use improvement in the coaching department.

Mediocre talent combined with mediocre coaching lead to what you saw Saturday night.

Too bad Miles wanted to RS Pocic. Cameron was very high on him during pre-season. He could have helped. He'll be ready to go next season and hopefully will be the next Whitworth for four years.

I just wonder if Les needs to have a scape goat because he himself is coaching the OL? Otherwise, there must be an enthusiastic, young, and good recruiter out there who knows how to teach a lineman the proper technique they need to compete?

Stud aspires to mediocrity, he is flat out terrible. How the OL has managed to escape scrutiny as long as it has is beyond me, it is consistently a weak spot of the team. The biggest difference between LSU and Alabama is line play. Our DL is generally on par with theirs, our OL never is.

What are you smoking! JJ couldn't get passed the 50 in the biggest game of his life among other issues that has been QB was. JJ stared down his target, waited for them to be open before throwing, and made poor decisions. Mett is a huge step above. You sir are delusional!
