From the replay, it looks like Miles went on the field toward him, but Mett turned and walked away. I was stunned that ZERO of the offense went toward to see if he was OK or not.

so, it would've been less dramatic for him to immediately limp off the field or should he have stayed there and waited for the physio crew to come out and huddle over him till he was ready to make his way to the sideline?

Exactly. F that. If I was Mett, there is no way I'm not picking myself up and getting myself off that field, no matter how much pain I was in.

No F'ing way I'm going to not only take a beating on the scoreboard, but then give Bryant-Denny the pleasure of watching me get helped off the field. F that shite.

Not just on that piss poor OL play, but Bama just kept the gas pedal down a little long. That was pretty weak in my opinion.

I would hope that keeping our foot on the pedal demonstrates the amount of respect Saban has for your team. There were about 3:30-4:00 minutes left in the game, and we all know OBJ is always one step away from breaking a big play. We definitely didn't want to see that happen, followed up by a successful onside kick.

I thought the play calling that drive was terrible...four straight drop back passes? how about a dump pass or a quick out, or something to keep Alabama from bull rushing...

He walked by everyone! It wasn't time to chit chat. He actually cared about the outcome of the game.

We did the same thing to Arkansas at the end of the 2011 game.

C'mon man...its a 21 point game under 3:00 minutes to play and 3rd and 18 but Saban is showing respect by bringing a safety blitz? Nah I don't think so

Hill looks very good out of the backfield catching passes. Hell how about just a simple rb screen?

The down and distance got away quick that series. Y'all were killing us on the quick slants all night.

Raise up on a knee, then push, bring other leg up... then walk. It wasn't like he took shrapnel or a couple of 7.62mm rounds. Have some pride.

I agree. But how about we just tackle like a decent high school team for a change? Or make better decisions with the football? How about we make adjustments at half-time? How about we play with a little bit of fire and passion on the defensive side of the ball? How about we do a lot of things?

That game was so difficult to watch because it was clear we had a good game plan going in. We were kicking the shite out of Bama the first half but we couldn't get out of our own way. But because we were kicking the shite out of them, no adjustments were made at half despite actually being down, and we came out and got abused like a blow up doll.

That was a whole team loss, right there, but even at the end, you can't let your QB die on the field. You have to have enough respect for the guy behind center that, even if Bama is going to bring 7 each time, you plant some people in the ground and keep your guy upright. Utterly ridiculous.

We lost this game because we won the first half, and it didn't reflect on the scoreboard because of two terrible plays. Bama won the second half, and it did reflect on the scoreboard, because they avoided terrible plays.

Mett is a competitor and he got up and walked off that field the best that he could. Give him some freaking credit for walking off that field unhelped. If he didnt want to hear anything from anyone including his head coach at that time so be it.
As far as Alabama blitzing late in the game? It is what it is. I hate the Gumps and will never forgive Saban for his lies. But as long as LSU is trying to score they should be trying to stop them, blitzing included.
If u want to play nice dont send your guys 20 yards down the field trying to get back in it and expect me to play prevent.
We were beaten by a better team that played well that night. It's time to move on and beat A&M, Arkansas and the hell out of our bowl opponent. And finish in the Top 3 in recruiting.

what about 7.63mm rounds? would he have been justified taking a moment to get off the ground after that?

unless you have reviewed a post-game medical evaluation of mettenberger, i'd say it's pretty blowhardy of you to call him a drama queen for being tackled by 300+ lb. defensive linemen.

its probably tough being a competitor and having a noncompetitive head coach as your coach.

It sounds ludicrous to say that, but it is absolutely the truth. It's almost as if he has a list of things he wants to try and if they work, he crosses them off the list and repeatedly tries the things that failed, over and over again, expecting a different outcome. That's the definition of insanity.
