Brett Martel's syndicated Associated Press article from more than 24 hours ago has been picked up by 1,000's of news outlets including The ESPN!

Duh. Did it really need an exclamation point?

You might as well put the other quotes in as well, unless you are trying to tell less than half the story...

Not trying to tell half a story. Those quotes were irrelevant. To call the coaching staff naive if they don't play them is pretty ballsy. I understood his point. His choice of words was rather poor.

If it's been talked about already, then my apologies. It was in my inbox today, so I assumed it was from today.

Wait a minute, so JJ tells the truth about crowton in an article and its like a ten page bitchfest saying the kid needs to shut his mouth and he's arrogant and blah blah blah. Mett comes on and says basically Miles would have to be ignorant not to play him in any significant periods and that's ok? Both told the truth yet JJ should not have opened his mouth about a coach but Mett should open his mouth about the head coach?

I see no problem with them saying what they said but it seems that to others JJ must be a saint and shut his mouth at all times while Mett is ok to speak his mind.

That is not a good quote from him. As a coach, I would suspend a player for that crap. Either this came out wrong, or there is something internal brewing.

He is 100% correct. It's about as controversial as saying a coach would be stupid to punt on first down.

Do you find that Smart to say about people who could potentially determine whether he gets a shot at playing D1A football in college , maybe the NFL?

will you ask later why Mettenmouth is in the dog house?

If he is in the dog house later for that comment then I will say it's not warranted.

So it was a poor choice of words. He wasn't calling the coaches naive though. He was just saying that he expects to play.

I swear, I never realized there were so many women that cared about football. But the way some people get all pissy about a simple comment is crazy.

It's because he's black.

Or the fact that JJ is a repeat offender in the pouting, bad attitude and blame game. JJ didn't come to LSU hated, you know.

It's a matter of fact.
You think it isn't?

It is also likely a verbatim Miles-to-Mett quote being parroted by Mett to a journalist.

Jumping to conclusions.

This might not even be Mett saying anything more than what the coaches have been telling him. So if the coaches over the recruitment process told mett that "he won't likely start this year but will get playing time because JL and JJ are leaving and it would be stupid to not make sure he sees the field." then most likely Mett is doing nothing more than repeating what has been told to him over and over by the coaches themselves.

Not even any smoke hear much less fire.

Also basically the same article on SI.com and Bleacher Report. Easy to find.

Even easier considering it's linked on the homepage of this site. IJS

If you recruit a QB of his caliber, you expect those words to come out of his mouth. Based on performance, the kid has WAY more upside than JJ...however, JJ is LM love child, and is benefiting from some unreal complete teams he has played for...hence his winning percentage...his stats are abismal.
