I get that, but it's just hard to understand how he became an official without ever playing football even as a young kid. Most kids play at least one year of pee wee football especially people who love football.

It is actually pretty cool though. I bet he is in the minority

Please tell me you didn’t “Tiger bait” him or anything like most Tiger fans would do!

Refs should be secret until game time. That's how you know vegas has their hand in football.

Don’t a lot of these guys have legit college degrees? Pretty awesome they do it.

Years ago through my job I met an SEC official who was coming to work the LSU spring game. Said him and a lot of guys do this as a second job. Must be nice.

I don't think it's a big deal. Actually it's better because when you play football you always have a bias for offense or defense depending on what side of the ball you were on when you played

In my humble opinion to be an official they should have at least played in high school

Referees should be made up entirely of former players so they can go after players they don’t like

Don't see the big deal, most posters on the rant have never coached a down of football, yet they think they just hop on the field and take a team to the superb owl.

I'm an attorney and one of my cases is against an attorney who is also a white hat (Crew cheif) in the ACC. He went to Texas for undergrad and LSU for law school, so he can't officiate either of their games.

Thats pretty cool tbh, I always wondered how they got into the profession. Its not like there is a job board or career fair for collegiate or professional referees.
