Good Job McNeese.

This.

That is a heads up move by the AD and school. If I was a McNeese fan this would go a ways in making me a bigger fan of the admin.

I like to see the Cajuns do well, except when playing LSU.

They could a learn a thing or two about co-existing in this state from this letter.

As small a part as it might be, I do think it says something about the ability of McNeese to come into Lafayette and leave 21 point victors.

I must qualify my statements some, my brother played for and graduated from McNeese, and some of my best friends are McNeese grads.

I have attended a McNeese saturday night game and it is a very enjoyable experience. Nothing like Tiger Stadium but enjoyable non the less!

While I applaud the decision make no bones about it this is strictly a revenue driven idea. They are basically out of the conference race which also means the playoffs and attendance has traditionally gone down hill quickly once they are eliminated so this coupled with the attendance history of a home game up against a major LSU game means a major blow to revenue. They have never done this before so they must be hurting for revenue, wonder if the season ticket surcharge this year hurt them more in the pocket book than they have let on?

ULL could learn a lesson from McNeese. They would never do anything like this in a million years.

They are playing at 2:30 on Nov. 5th and without the unprecedented move by CBS, the two schools would have been playing at the same time.

Do you think ULL would have considered moving their game?? No way in hell. They are having a good season and my brother is a student there so I am pulling for them. This season has been great for them, but they still like to think that they may one day compete on LSU's level.

Won't happen, but you would never see them do a thing like McNeese did. My brother is a ULL student, but a bigger LSU fan. He will now watch both games, but only because LSU's game is at night, otherwise he just would have not attended the ULL game.

Same here. I went back to see what was wrong. It was nada, nothing, zilch, zero.

McNeese should play on Friday nights like the rest of the high schools around here.

This is a nice move by McNeese, but I'd think that the motivation was both to placate their fans while keeping themselves from having a half empty stadium.

UL would probably not do the same, nor should they. It's up to the university to choose between game attendance and standing by their traditions. I've tailgated at UL games where the majority of the fans went in to see the game while the remainder stayed under the tents watching LSU on TV. No big deal.

As much bitching and moaning as we've seen on this board concerning the change from LSU traditions, it's pretty ridiculous to expect the rest of the state to change theirs to honor the Tigers.

I hope that the McNeese decision works out well for them.

From what I have read the season ticket sales have been near previous year levels so I don't think this is the case. If anything the surcharge brought in more revenue bc the ticket sales were still high. I'm sure this does have something to do with revenue (LSU Bama on CBS at 7 is about revenue also, they must be short on cash) but not b/c they are short on cash but rather...its what the department is supposed to do.

This was a very nice move by McNeese. It sounds like thay sent out a little survey and right away learned that most of the 3,000 or 4,000 fans they were counting on to attend their game Saturday night are actually bigger Tiger fans than Cowboy fans. Therfore it only made good sense not to loose all of that cash.

La Grange High in Lake Charles is having their reunion this weekend.
I mentioned to someone that its a good thing too, because if it were Nov 5th weekend, the men would not come to the reunion.
She said, "neither would the women".
