Mcneese gets the best defensive player in LSU history and maybe for 2 years. That worked out well for them. It wouldn't surprise me if Tyrann plays like a man possessed to get back to the top.

You mean the way Janoris Jenkins fell far this past draft? TM7 will be a top 4 round pick.

Writing off his NFL career now is silly.
The kid just turned 20 two months ago and has at least a few more years of college football if he wants.
I'm pissed at him for being a dumbass too but I remember how stupid I was as a teenager and up til now, all his accomplishments on the field were in his teen years.
I just hope he can mature fast as an adult and live up to his potential. I think Les Miles and the LSU team want the same.

Honestly, he doesn't need that right now. His future as a football player in the NFL depends greatly on his ability to control his off-the-field behavior, and to do that, the guy needs to feel the sting of leaving LSU. Uncontrolled adulation at his next college stop won't do him any favors, imo.

Well considering lots of talking heads had TM7 going late in the 1st, dropping to the 4th would be a significant drop... and lots of $$$ lost. Just saying.

Janoris Jenkins never had people questioning whether he could be an every down corner. TM7 has the perception (not that i agree with it) that hes not a guy that can cover or be a starting corner in the league

"We're preseason #27.
I think last year was the first year we weren't ranked in the Top 25 in a while."
Understood. These are exciting times for both institutions. I mean who wouldn't want the top DB in the country.

Hopeully he fairs better than the Janzen Jackson project.

Did he smoke a dooby with HB?

I mean, in terms of performance, he lacked a little bit. He did, however, stay out of trouble.
Posted on 8/12/12 at 7:42 pm to southernelite
There was a time not too long ago that he would've overwhelmingly been the best player on the field. Sadly, he wasn't. Hopefully TM7 can refocus and keep his edge.
Posted on 8/12/12 at 8:05 pm to iknowmorethanyou
I think it will. I mean he's obviously in shape where he could have went for LSU, just needs to keep it up. I don't think Janzen had worked out with a team in a while, but don't quote me there.

Just left media day for MSU. There is supposed to be reaction from players on the 10pm newscast about the potential of him joining the team.

IF Mathieu gets his head on straight and IF he continues to improve as a player, I don't think he falls too much from where he was projected. Even Cecil Collins, the most fricked up of the frick-ups, got drafted in the 5th round. I don't think Mathieu's off the field problems are nearly as bad as what the Diesel had going on. He might lose a little money...but not a catastrophic amount.
