They took the same chance with the double tag earlier when McManus took second on a short fly to center. They assumed the play would be at 3B. They got lucky they they mishandled the throw.

It wasn’t really close. If we want the offense to get into a rhythm, stop running ourselves out of innings. We have lots of talented hitters but they aren’t stringing them together yet. Mistakes like that removes opportunities for them.
