I’d kill to have a shooter like Keith on this team. Let’s beat those pig humpers!

I member watching that in the bar at the Hilton in Houston before walking over to Minute Maid to watch LSU baseball and Alex Lange shutout Baylor.

That win and the Josh Gray buzzer-beater layup to beat West Virginia in Morgantown got us into the tournament that year.

He was so consistent. He seemingly never had a night where he couldn’t buy a 3. You knew if he got open looks that he’d knock down a couple of them.

Man if this team had him we’d go far. Dude shot over 40% from 3, we could really use that

I still remember feeling like we were a bubble team only to wind up a 9 seed.

God that was such a bad hire

at least Trent Johnson looked good on paper, the Jones hire just made no sense to anyone except dale brown's senile arse.

I agree. But, to be fair, at least Jones (until his final season when the program quit on him) had LSU competitive (albeit in a very weak SEC) for 4 years. Until he last season LSU never finished below .500 in SEC play. The problem is his teams REALLY could lose to anyone or beat anyone. They were that inconsistent.

Johnson on the other hand proceeded to take Brady's experienced leftovers and win the SEC, only to then completely crater the program the next two years (5 total SEC wins).

I don't know if I'd say Jones was a "bad" hire, as he at least improved the situation, as much as his hire was just a 5 year waste of time. EVERYONE except Dale and lazy Joe Alleva knew Jones was never going to take this program to any great heights.
