As I recall he was once the Rant Heisman winner.

don't think it's crazy to say that he won't get drafted in the first 5 rounds

That doesn't mean he can't develop into a really good college QB though.

His father was drafted in the 8th or 9th round. Won a Super Bowl.

Honestly, I think his play shows regression over his time here.
He won't be any better elsewhere unless he is behind a 5 star offensive line unit giving him 10 seconds to throw
I think part of that regression was from getting sacked a lot early in the season. Resting up and a fresh start will do him well. He still has 3 years of eligibility left.

Will that rest make him more mobile or his arm stronger? IMO CBK processed his mediocre arse

With his Dad being a NFL QB, he reached his potential early. It was impressive what he did in the Florida game last year etc., but sadly that is his peak, no amount of coaching is going to make him more mobile or have a stronger arm
People downvoting, but I think it's a valid observation.

Johnson started 2020 as 3rd string behind Brennan and Finley, because he was the least physically gifted guy.
He beat Finley out because he was mentally ahead of him (probably because prepped him up). But he physically can't make plays more than 20-30 yds downfield because he just doesn't have the arm. He can drop something in, but can't gun it there.

He created a lot of hope with last season, because we figured he would progress. But the physical limitations make him no more than a crafty game-manager at best, and our offensive scheme required more than that last year.
He looked like Brees in 2020 (but without the knowledge) out there.

That's not an attack, it's understanding potential. He can speed up his reads, but he's never going to be able to open up the field.

Stack up his 14 starts against other LSU qbs first 14 starts…..Max did well for a young qb. The lack of running (Which he was probably instructed about) was a really big difference. Losing Boutte was tough too. Overall, he had one of the stronger LSU qb seasons in terms of yards and tds.

The Bama O Line can make Pee Wee Herman a Heisman hopeful. They just reload they Red Shirt five stars we get four stars and they regress to two stars.

Yep. Kid is a mediocre dud. I told people the difference between him and Finley is that Johnson was a guy learning QB since he was 2 by an NFL QB and Finley was a guy who didn't really start learning how to pass until his junior year in high school. One has an arm that can make all the throws, the other is very limited in what he can do because of his arm.

Will Finley reach his potential? Who knows, but I do know that Johnson is about as maxed out (no pun intended) with his talent as you can get.
