Max Johnson, led LSU to wins over No. 6 Florida and Ole Miss. He had 1,069 yards passing for eight touchdowns with only one interception. He also rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns.

I'm as big a Joe Burrow fan as anyone on this board, so I don't make this comparison lightly. He's a clone of Joey B.

He's a gym rat and a film study freak. Boutte said that he and Max ran routes all Summer, then after practice and days off in the Fall.

He pretty much knows what the D will be doing before the kickoff. And he gets rid of the ball lightening fast - that alone can account for the very few sacks he took.

I hope O listens to Max and his dad in the same way O listened to Joe and his dad as to the passing scheme for 2021 and beyond.

Max Johnson is the real deal.

I love what I see with Max. The OP sucks though.

My only criticism of him is arm strength. He needs to hit the gym. He struggles to throw the ball across the field from the hash to the far sideline.

As I said in a previous post I believe he is the only QB we have currently with the IT factor - finds ways to win.

Well we all laughed at his outrageous Burrow predictions and then "it happened!"

Extrapolate that over 15 games

Remember Burrow didn’t play many 4th quarters and even didn’t ply many half of the 3rd quarters

I’m a Max fan, but Finley and.Brennan both had great games, all three can ball.

The jump that burrow made from 2018 to 2019 is one that I’ve never seen any QB make. Remains to be seen if Max can match that.

I think he definitely has a good chance to be that good. He will have to get to Joe's level of reading defenses.

Beeswax must be good at something in life, but it sure as hell isn't assessing football talent. LOL

Calling a player "the next (elite player from past)" isn't ever good.

Stop.

Max is the first Max Johnson. and THAT fact is awesome.

You might want to stop comparing QB’s to Joe Burrow because you will be continuously disappointed when they don’t end up being Joe Burrow. There will never be another. He was and will always be the GOAT.

Burrow doesn't have an elite arm either.

Oh my. Please don't let this be the start of a weird obsession with Max Johnson, like you had for Burrow. We don't want your arse around here. Go away, like you said you would.

Burrow is the best college QB I've ever seen.

But Burrow has admitted several times that he was not ready to play as a true Freshman. MJ did this as a 19 year old true Freshman.
