Parting ways may have been good for both sides. He didn't do much the last 2 years against SEC competition.

Anyone who knows anything about baseball, also knows that your pitching coach cannot call 10 staright offspeed/breaking balls to the same batter. A true quality sec hitter will adjust every time. I am not a fire the coach guy, and I usually do not second guess those guys, but anyone who has played baseball above the little league level knows you have to keep changing speeds. Our pitching coach had no confidence in Ott unless he was throwing the slider. It drove me crazy last year.
