Just watched his press conference and he is fast becoming my favorite DC that has coached at LSU. His response to questions are clear and complete without rambling on. His results on and off the field are impressive. He is an outstanding addition to our coaching staff and I believe he will make a great head coach someday.

So a person who can talk well and answers all the right questions automatically are great coaches?

I do not care if he is Farmer Fran from The Waterboy as long as he can recruit, develop and implement plays at a high level.

you missed the point.

if a coach is that straight forward with the media, you can bet your a$$ that he is even more up front and in your face with his players as well as assistant coaches.

no time for BS. that is the point.

Remember when O talked shite about Aranda's 3-4 system and said that his 2020 defense was light years better? Yeah.

I remember people on here questioning his defense after the Tennessee and Texas A&M games.

All I needed to know was when he was hired Mathieu gushed on how great of a coach he was.

That’s it.

He did VERY well for the talent given. Those that judged him last year jumped the gun.

He will be graded on his performance from here on out.

If coach can talk clearly, answer question. Without blabbing like you say.
It makes me think that he is same way while talking to recruits and players the same way. Has to be a plus for coaching

He had me won over after I saw how he implemented a freshman Harold Perkins into his system. Dude knows how to let his players ball

His first year defense wasn’t even as good as Kevin Steele’s year at LSU. Doesn’t take much to impress

Backwoods juveniles on here start these kinds of threads when a person is capable of coherently forming sentences because they grew up listening to their backwoods grandparents, parents, Les Miles and Ed Orgeron. They assume someone is intelligent and will be successful because of how they speak. It has zero to do with how effective a coach they are. The 2 mentioned both won titles with Les playing for another. I wouldn’t define them as great but they both had great moments, seasons and teams.

Brian Kelly is an intelligent and very articulate but still hasn’t won the National Title he desires. Does that make him a great coach? He is successful but I wouldn’t define him as great.

You think because you type a lot of words you sound smart but you sound like a 16 old child calling people backwoods.
