do we have any viable alternatives at LT? I don't see it.

Maybe we get lucky and pull a Bama and AD steps in and starts at LT. I would love to see Clapp at C, Mae and Campbell at Guards with Toby holding down RT. Probably dreaming but we'll see.

Going forward, I wish the Tigers move Malone and Mae inside and let them compete for the guard positions, and move Clapp to center. The Tigers need better play from their LT. Weathersby is solid at RT.
I bet Deculus sees time this year, even if that means moving Weathersby to LT and playing Deculus on the right as he gets started as a freshman. That would give us two true Tackles for the first time in a long time.
If Malone does hold onto the job, Deculus will at least get time and provide depth.

Ive said that for a while about Malone...id like him and Clapp at C, Maea and Campbell Weathersby at G, Deculus and ??? at Tackle...think that line up COULD give us the mass needed on the line to compete with bama up front

Have you seen the weights on our line? Mass isn't the issue. It was the system we ran plus how they are conditioned.
If anything, we need these guys to trim up a bit and get lighter on their feet, especially at tackle, for better pass protection and movement. We aren't going to have just a straight ahead mauler running offense anymore. Canada's scheme spreads the defense out and attacks sidleline to sideline. However, that means that the line has to be versatile and athletic enough to cover that ground, too. This also goes for our TEs and FBs. I wouldn't be shoucked if we see small weight drops across the board as their S&C programs change with this new offense.

Why are people giving Coach Grimes space while they were all over Pevoto? Grimes has under achieved every year that he has been here. He recruited theses lineman. They are giving Moffit an extension. Look at the difference the defensive line made with the hiring of Ogeron and Aranda. Maybe Coach Canada will make a couple of staff changes when he get settled in. LSU players usually aren't as strong as their peers when the NFL combine results are released. Why?
