...especially in the pass rush. The Arkansas O line had no trouble at all keeping him out of the backfield on the pass rush last night. He wasn't even seeing many double teams...they just handled him straight up. He seems to have lost some of the explosiveness he had before his injury. For the time being we have to replace him in our pass rush packages.

On the positive side Womack has been great in his few opportunities. I look for him to see his playing time increase.

Smith doesn’t fully trust the left knee yet. I don’t blame him as I have thankfully never been in his position. Something will “click” and he’ll turn it loose, but until then the coaches seem to be patient. He’ll be back ??

I watched him most of the game. He wasn't being double teamed most of the time. He went up against 55 for arkansas who just man handled him 1v1 most of the game.

Over, rated.

Well lets be perfectly honest for a moment. Masson Smith has been nothing but hype and I am not really sure where it came from. He didn't exactly set the world on fire as a freshman and played what one series last season? So where was the hype coming from that he was this sure fire All American dominant player? Yeah he is uber talented and was a great High School player but he has proven anything in college. So instead of attacking him just be patient. He is coming off of a major knee injury it takes time. I am sure he will be progressing nicely in a few more weeks.

He was being double teamed, but not every play. The runs on his side,…he was up against 4 or 5 guys and the back in these scrums they were running. He does need to improve though. I’d bet he’d be the first one to say it.

stop with this armchair psycho crap. it's so stupid. I've been where he is. has nothing to do with trusting his knee.

Much of the hype has come from coaches and teammates. Yeah us star watching fans too certainly...but even preseason media and all SEC predictions were anointing him with little actual results to go in.
