I feel bad for Thornton playing for the Rant now. He was a much better player for the Hornets Talk.

He is a better defender than Belinelli, who was recently rated at the bottom of the league.

Thorton had no work ethic in NOLA. After last year he got a big head and didn't show up for any of the optional workouts in the summer. The rest of the team did. None of the other players on the hornets liked him bc of his extremely poor work ethic.

its pretty well known by most hornet followers he didn't think he needed to show up for defensive workouts over the summer.

and monty said marcus left here on good terms, meaning it was bad.

With Kings coach Paul Westphal, MT will thrive. MT has gone to a team with a completely different mind set. NOLA was defensively minded with Monty at the helm and Sac is offensively minded with Westphal. Anyone know Westphal's history as a coach knows this dude is all about the offense.

Be nice to see MT do well, make big bucks, and let his karma slide back a little to LSU. Remember, it was TJ who allowed Marcus to thrive and get to the NBA in the first place.

I love how everyone criticizes MT5's D when he is a better defender than Willie Green and Belinelli.

He isn't the best man-up defender, but his energy and active hands always created turnovers. He had 2 clear path fouls against Chicago, the Memphis game when he tipped the inbound to allow that crazy comeback are just two of many times that stick out in my mind. These were defensive plays neither belinelli or green make.

Fact is, he skipped the workouts and Monty never let it go. And maybe he shouldn't have, but he let a personal vendetta come before playing the best player at the position.

nobody in the nba plays defense. Monty is retarded for trading our one person besides cp3 who can create for himself and score at will. Terrible decision

I wonder if MT was on contract, you know, getting paid like the rest of the team who went to summer workouts?

I'm sure he was, but he never had much more than a base NBA contract with the team that might not included pay for play at practice.

What I dont get is Monty's logic. Give up a top 3 scorer on an already offensivly enept team for more defense. As far as I can tell since the trade it dosent matter if you hold your opponent to 90 if you yoursef cant break 85.

Monty just got tired of the listening to the band playing LSU songs every time Thornton stepped on the court or made a point. He was jealous.
