Dude dropped 29 points tonight in just 27 minutes and 16 of those points came in the 4th quarter as he led Sacramento in a comeback win over the Clippers.

He is going to score a lot of points in Sacramento. Dare I say he could make an all-star game in the future?

I'd give him one all star game... If that center for the Kings can be serious, that team would be a contender

Funny considering how David West is still in NOLA.

This team actually has a pretty decent future if Cousins can get his act together. Good place for MT5 to land. At the very least he'll be given plenty of opportunities to score and become an attractive FA.

Good quote from Kings coach: (Via ESPN recap)

quote:

?"We were running plays for him he doesn't even know, but the guys on the floor, Beno in particular, figured out how we could get him the ball and they just improvised a little bit, and Marcus delivered," Kings coach Paul Westphal said.

Not a shocker at all. Monty didn't believe in Marcus, plain and simple

Not a mention of Thornton at all on ESPN's video recap of the game... just a few Blake Griffin dunks.

''We couldn't slow him (Thornton) down,'' Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said. ''We tried to keep him in an area, trap him on pick and rolls, but he was really aggressive. He was making shots, taking it to the basket, and got to the free-throw line. He hurt us tonight.''

Damn, even though his defense isn't a strong suit, his offensive game surely makes up for it IMO. Whenever the Kings play MT, I believe he's going to try to put up 40 and he has the ability to do it and try to stick it to the Hornets.

I doubt it. The NBA is guard-heavy, and a lot of the guards that are getting pumped out from college to the pros are turning out to be superstars or superstars in the making. Thornton, while really good, will never be a superstar.

i dont understand it. you've got an outside scorer in marcus, an inside scorer in west.

you've got an outside defender in ariza, an inside defender in the post (i cant spell his name)

and the best point in the league. and you miss used them all. roll the ball out to those 5 and let them play?

Hornets D looked really special in loss to Rockets ; this excuse is getting very old; Just didn't jive with CMW, that's it, so stop all the rhetoric and lets move on! Good luck MT5 and Geaux Hornets!

Are you really that surprised? This is the same network whose golf highlights consist of 18 Tiger Woods shots, followed by a brief mention that he's 8 shots back.

Thorton had no work ethic in NOLA. After last year he got a big head and didn't show up for any of the optional workouts in the summer. The rest of the team did. None of the other players on the hornets liked him bc of his extremely poor work ethic.

He definitely has the ability to do it. He dropped 23 in a quarter last year.

Hate to see him leave the Hornets, but am glad he's getting his chance in Sac'to.

They gave up 91 points in the game which is better than any team in the league averages. The problem was only scoring 34 points in the 2nd half.

You should definatly take over as head coach for this team. I'm sure you know much more/better than Monty. There is a reason for his choices.

Something else that isn't understood. Why didn't Marco get time in the 4th. He put up 14 pts in 15 min. So, we have that scorer much like Marcus was but he just wasn't in the game. In the last 5 games he has 46 pts in just 71 min. Thats impressive considering in one of those games he only played 6 min with 0 pts.

Bellinelli is more of a shooter, not a scorer like Marcus
