while students dont generate revenue (at least directly) like ticketholders do, they are ALLWAYS the ones who bring the noise and attitude. youve seen the way the team reacts to the fans getting into the game.
the better the student section => more noise in the game => the better the team plays => the more non student fans want to pay to see the games => more revenue for the AD.
theres a student opinion for ya
keep the student section together.

The consistency on the "airball" cheers for 22 was great. That was an embarrassing free throw he missed, and for a while there we were really in his head.
The cheer sheets were pretty awful. We really need to coordinate that more...and not just with the Maniac section, but with the upper seats too. More newspapers for the opposing teams lineup as well.
I mean really, nobody even used the cheer sheets they were that bad.

The athletics department didn't assign that name, it was selected by student vote that the student government held like 3 years ago!!!
