Cannot help but think we could have had him playing nickel this year. Would have been a difference maker in secondary.

Amik would be on the field a lot for us this season. No doubt he’d beat out Vincent.

I know, we could of had both them guys. Nothing against our starter at nickel we have now, but Amik is one little nasty sob, and i say that in a good way.

What sucks about Amik is that EVERYONE knew he would be incredible. It wasnt a surprise. The only people that seemed to be confused were the recruiters.

Too short was the knock on him. Everyone seemed to agree everything else was great. Sometimes I think they get too caught up in measurables. The dude was highly dynamic in high school. Gotta think he was worth a shot to someone P5, even if not LSU.

I love O, but it was his job to close with Amik. Or maybe is was Raymond, too. That was the 2017 class after Miles was fired.

It is what it is. He would be perfect in this defense. He may have even been a fire starter like TM7 was for this defense.

It also sucks because he would have been ours if we wanted him. Still super proud of the dude, though.

LSU offered Amik. During his recruiting visit, Amik asked Coach O if he would see immediate playing time as a true freshman. Coach O told Amik due to the depth at the CB position, that Amik would likely redshirt his first year.

Coach Holtz told Amik he would start immediately and see lots of playing time as a true FR. Amik was sold on the idea and committed to LA Tech. Amik could have committed to LSU but chose to sign with LA Tech. It was all about playing time for Amik as Coach O was honest based on the players who were already at LSU.

What most don’t realize is Amik became a father when he was 15 yrs old and he had to grow up fast. He believes in his physical abilities and plays with an attitude like he owns the field (Honey Badger). His goal was to attend college for 3 yrs, showcase his talent for scouts, and get to the NFL ASAP to give his family a better life.
