I know everyone hates Vitello still, but he seems to have mellowed out a bit after getting bounced by ND at home in the supers after that historic season. He still has his moments but it's clear he was humbled a bit after that moment and matured. Only then did they finally break through.
You can still have an edge about you without being a petulant childish meathead all the time. You act like that and it just comes off as being insecure more than anything. No sympathy from me at all. This might be that humbling moment he needed

They came in way too cocky. They assumed that winning 26 straight in the sunbelt actually meant something when you have to play real baseball.
