He struggles often to express the excitement of the moment in all sports. Yes, he’s polished and professional, but yes boring and not good at expressing excitement. Very ho hum and neutral sounding.

You know why Rod Bramblett was such an electric announcer for Auburn? Well he was an Auburn fan. Hawthorne while not a graduate was an LSU fan. Shocking that some dude from Georgia has to try and pantomime passion about LSU sports.

I’m a Hawthorne guy. Blair isn’t bad. ALL you need to do is listen to a few others. He’s way,way better than most college guys. Like much better! Try some others. Then see how he stacks up. I travel a lot and hear them from all over. As a group, they are horrible

He's better at his job than probably everyone in this thread. If you're in the top 150 or so in the country at your job, then you can legitimately bitch about Blair.

Blair is really pretty good. Now he isn't given to hyperbole like Jim Hawthorne: "that was a FROZEN ROPE", "Ho-Lee COW", "you won't see a play like that again in a million years", but he's more than adequate and shows his enthusiasm in a measured manner.
