It is a completely unfair standard we hold ourselves to.

Its an unfair standard to hold anyone too. what he is doing is nuts, and it is a compilation of his ability, a cult of personality built around him since he returned to college football, and the hype that is Bama, and all the trapping that come with it.

What will that have to fall to before a change should be made? In your opinion of course.

Honesty, if you have a coach that has the 10th best win % in sec history, you have a great coach. Miles accumulated his gaudy win %
During the most successful era of sec football, EVER.

You aren't answering the question.

Are you saying Miles can stay as long as he wants based on what he has already accomplished? Moving forward it doesn't really matter what else happens? Or is there a point at which his gaudy % is no longer considered "gaudy"?

When i coach like this has a bad year, you give him a year to right the ship.
you don't just chuck him off.

I've been doing really well with staying off this board becuase of the insane amount of stupidity and pitchfork led e-mobs.

All I'm going to say is, be careful what you wish for.....LSU is not immune to what has happened to Florida, Tennessee, Texas, USC....Even Ohio St before Meyer was hired.

Everyone here wants Saban type results and that's it. There's really no other coach that will give you that other than him.

So continue with your Saban obsessions and comparisons, it's never going to happen here that way because he's a once in a generation coach.

So again, be careful what you wish for...

Prom, you hit that way over the center field wall.

I'm not saying that he should be fired this year. And he'd absolutely have to melt down next year for there to even be a chance.

I'm asking for your opinion on at what point you think a change should be made? Or ever? Has he earned enough with his accomplishments to stay until he's JoPA age?

Do you think Fulmer should still be at Tenn? Do you think Mack should still be at Texas? Honest question.

USC and Ohio St both had unique circumstances (NCAA) so I don't think they are comparable. And honestly Meyer is an upgrade from Tressel and Kiffin would have never had a shot at that job had it not been for the sanctions.

And since I'm too lazy and you referenced Ohio St before Meyer...what was Tressel's winning % at Ohio St? Was it "gaudy"?

I think there was a lot going on that kept JoPa around, mostly the fact that everyone knew he would literally die if he was fired.

which he did.

But no, i think three years of REAL mediocrity, or if we had a losing season next season..

I do think you kick Alleva's to the curb and let him be A if he is into that.
Great people person.

Ok I follow that. What do you consider real mediocrity? 4 losses?

I think it is worth noting, that Fulmer and mack had coached significantly longer (17 and 16 years)

But honestly i can't say Tennessee wouldn't have a better record over the last 7 seasons had they kept him.

I think they pulled the trigger too soon to tell.

But their loss is our gain.

yeah i think that is fair.

i think everyone would know its time after 9-4, 9-4, 9-4.
And i credit Les in knowing that too.

Maybe you get like a coach in waiting type guy if you don't want to full on fire him.

Wow. You really don't understand that the logic is that there is a risk in hiring a new coach.

Risk? We're 7-4 what kind of major risk could it be? Last time that I checked 7-4 wasn't a top notch season
