I think my point has been made. IMO, leaving Berry in towards the end was the right move. Bottom line is the coach looks at each situation and tries to make the best decision to handle it. Just because you make the right move, doesn't mean you're guaranteed success. There are no sure bets in baseball.

other than the bunting issue, how can he coach better?
For one thing I don't let a runner go down to 2nd base uncontested.

Take that back. Maybe in 9 and 10 year old baseball?

If you are referring to the 9th inning, then you are just small minded

Start benching people like Nola for a few games to make a point. Nobody is too good to be benched. And Watkins should never see the field.

Are you serious about benching Nola? He is one of the only people hitting the ball descent. If you are referring to his errors, Hanover ran right in front of him on the one ball and dozar should have caught the other. We don't have a better SS

So you agree with the call to not semi-hold the runner? I've watched alot of baseball and this certainly isn't the norm.

If you are going to give the runner 2nd then why not at least try some trick pick off move. If the ball gets by the 1st basemen what is the harm???

So just to be clear, in the 9th inning with a 3 run lead and a guy on 1st base, you want your 1st basemen standing on the bag for a pickoff attempt, to hold a runner that doesn't matter, and open up the entire side of that infield for a hit? Not to mention having the pitcher worrying about a runner that doesn't matter?

PM looked confused on tv. Like a mad fan rather than a coach trying to get something going.

Hanover did that twice...Thats why Nola had to pause on the throw that Dozar missed...I agree Dozar should catch those

Exactly cause if Mahtook would not have gotten picked off right before Katz hit his double in the 2nd inning that homerun shot would have tied it up instead of winning it...

My observations:

1) Eades and Tyler Jones have got to step up. They are the only two talented enough to be consistently good out of the pen.

2) Hitting is a major issue right and if the current trend continues a change must be made during the offseason. I know it's easy to simply say fire the coach but at some coaches must be held accountable for poor performance.

I am def no baseball expert, and I think the team is capable of better. But some of this "it's just bad luck" and "well that's how the baseball gods want it" is total BUNK. You'd swear according to some of you that the Ides of March or some such nonsense is gonna determine it all, so why even bother playing?

How many times have I seen Trey Watkins watch a ball sail past him on a full count? You can't play small ball and be absolutely terrible at bunting. And I'm a Nola fan, but one game of errors is a fluke, this is a pattern now. Its not all CPM's fault, but its not just God's will that LSU baseball is circling the bowl right now.

You are kidding right? You are bitching about the coach letting the runner go to 2nd base uncontested with a 3-run lead in the 9th??? Tell me how that lost the game. I want to know. The positives of not holding that runner on far outweigh the negatives. It isn't even close. Who cares that the runner got to 2nd? Yeah, he scored on the next hit...to make it 3-1.

Find me ONE person who thinks this was a big deal. It happens ALL THE TIME in baseball. You people find the dumbest shite to gripe about.

OH THOSE KNOWLEDGABLE AND CLASSY LSU BASEBALL FANS
