CJ never had much of an NBA career because he was run out, so your comparison isn't fair, you don't know what he would have accomplished in the NBA.

Before he was "run out" he was a better than average, but completely unspectacular player.

he was considered by most to be an underachiever.
his Tourettes got much worse, he gained weight, became sluggish, was a real liability on defense and went into dan issel's doghouse.

And then, the jailhouse islam kicked in, and the rest is history.

I can't imagine you watching the 79-81 teams and NOT thinking the 81 team was the most experienced, well rounded and best basketball team. I just can't imagine someone preferring that Dwayne Scales/Tree Green bunch to that calm, and steady 81 team that blew past everybody....

And as for Shaq being a better college player than CJ, that's just crazy talk...

dude was still young in the NBA, real young, and hadn't had the chance to come into his own yet.

but I never said anything about Shaq being better at LSU than him, you must have me confused with someone.

and yes, Scales at one forward along with Macklin at the other made a formidable tandem, Scales could shoot lites out, while macklin was more of a slasher, and the Greens were mature solid players, Al a very effective offguard that was all SEC, no reason for them not to win it with Ethan running everything at PG.

81 would have beat them by three baskets.

Agreed. But you don't either. All I did was compare what was actually and factually there. Those points can't be argued. And when you compare those, they don't compare, IMO.

And he was run out because of his actions and comments. I fault no one but him for that. He did what he did, he said what he said, and had to live with it.

He made his bed, then had to sleep in it.

whatever, Jordy Hultberg's clutch shots from the outside would have given them the edge, forgot about him, huh?

Is it really though?

Both were two time All Americans yet Shaq won the Adolph Rupp Award, which amounts to basketballs Heisman trophy. CJ never did. The only thing I can find to say CJ was better was that he averaged 7 more points per game. So looking at the actual stats, IMO, I'd take Shaq.

yeah, like I said earlier he just received bad advice a t a young age, Hakeem was a raised Muslim long before CJ, but still respected American customs.

but, in all honesty, you can't really compare a center to a guard.

The tan alone was good for six wins that year.

u fool. He was a clever lil lefty, huh?

DB's failure with all those talented teams is equal to the womens 5 consecutive final fours and never winning one.
