This is just stupid to me. Given the rising costs that continually go to the fans for these games along with the absurd amount of corporate advertisement plastered around the stadium, they are now going to shell out likely 6 figures to bring a rap artist in to perform for 10-15 minutes?

Joe Aleva is honestly an idiot.

Unless the Macklemore vibe is parlayed into getting few recruits our way.

ETA: this is a net positive IMO. Lots of PR for LSU because a hell of a lot of people will be watching.

I dont think anyone has said anything anti-gay in this thread, but keep being a liberal and think whining will fix everything.

If LSU and Les are needing a freaking rap artist to bring in recruits to LSU than they have bigger issues than most think. Again, it's a pathetic and wasteful attempt that is only wasting LSU fans' money.

Who is going to be watching? I seriously doubt ESPN is going to cut it's halftime show to broadcast Macklemore at LSU.

Would you prefer another rapper to uses drug and violence references to make those millions?

There is nothing wrong with him being a more positive rapper. It's a nice change at least.

I am not the one claiming what a boon this would be for recruiting. I seriously doubt Les and company need this to help with their recruiting. It is a gimmick and a waste of money that some of you are just trying to justify because you think it's "cool".

Totally agree.

The point is though, it doesn't hurt. Macklemore is the in thing with college aged kids and younger.

ETA: my jimmies are not even rustled over this. In fact, I might enjoy the entertainment.
