Angels sign Sean Newcomb for $2.518M, leaving Brady Aiken the last unsigned first rounder.

Andy Cannizaro is going to flip Mac and keep him a Tiger.

He said the same thing yesterday.

Well he's been on the job for about 3 weeks now so I hope it's working.

You think giving a HS kid $2,000,000 is "ruining" their college dreams? Is this real life?
Exactly. The whole point of college is to prepare yourself to earn a living. If you can earn that living without college, good for you.
it's really hard for me to put myself in the shoes of a prospect. but man, in hindsight, it would have taken a hell of a lot of money to trade my experience i had in college. you certainly can't blame a kid for taking the money now, but if he's really good, he'll make that money eventually. and if he doesn't turn out to be great or has some sort of injury that hurts his stock, he could always earn a college degree to prepare himself to earn a living. it's just really tough to put a value on everything going to college is because it's much more than just education. whatever marshall decides, though, he'll be alright in the future. really can't go wrong either way in my opinion, but i wouldn't trade the experiences i had or the life long friends i made in college for anything. money isn't everything, and i have little doubt that he won't be able to provide for his family someday even without baseball, and that's all that really matters in the grand scheme

Pretty much what I said earlier
I am biased because I currently am fortunate enough to walk the stately oaks to class, but I would hope his family makes it perfectly clear what he's about to pass up.
I have never been in his shoes of "chasing the MLB dream", but I hope he's fully aware of the memories he'll miss passing up on LSU. Personally I also think it should be clearer since his family is financially sound.

If Mac comes to LSU, I'm gonna chug a beer and then run a mile, and then chug a beer.
