Even before the injury Sampson was never a consistent player who you could count on every game. I don't normally rag on players, but they've both been here long enough and they just don't produce.
i have been avoiding saying this specifically but i've been trying to make the point that this roster wade cobbled together is just patchwork at best. sampson might have had decent recruiting spark but he's never been even close to a consistently elite player. jones was never going to get that out of him but wade has a chance to - then the injury happened and sampson just hasn't looked sharp.

epps is a nice big man but again, not elite. what wade is doing with this roster is amazing. he's got very, very little to work with and that was with combs.

Epps and Reath combined for 6 rebounds. 2 less than Auburn's 6'3 forward.

Didn't Will Wade say after the Auburn game that there were still a couple of players who had not "bought into the
system.'? Who do you think he was referring to?

Epps and Sampson are not elite players. On good teams both are limited role players. Our team is just limited. This lineup was pieces together with whatever wade could get a hold of.
