My take on Nebraska? They made the worst decision in the history of college football when they fired Frank Solich for going 9-3. Look where it got them. They sucked dog nuts for several years after because of this. I used to hope they would never win another game. But now that Pelini is there, I guess I want to see them win now.

Although the games never went well, we always had a great time with Husker fans at the bowl games. Classy folks and NOBODY travels like Nebraska fans do.

I got to liking them a lot more aftwe hanging with many of them at the CWS, Pellini just makes it official now.

My take on Nebraska?

It seems things are finally heading back in the right direction. Not sure if you guys will ever be where you once were (perenial NC contenders)because of stiffer competition but things look like they're gonna get better.

Hated them forever. Now I'm rooting for them because

My wife is from Omaha and her family is all Huskers... plus Pelini... plus they haven't been a threat to LSU for decades. I can pull for them until that day if/when they ever play LSU again.

I guess it's ancient history, but we have never beaten Nebraska. I think that is reason enough to dislike them.

I've been hoping Nebraska would start kicking arse again. Once Bo Pelini wakes up the sleeping giant, the center of gravity in the BigXII will move closer to middle. After this season, if I never here about the BigIII from the BigXII South, it'll be too soon.

I like the Black Shirt tradition. It's good to know at least one program in the BigXII takes defense seriously.

One negative criticism, I think yall need to change the font of the 'N' on your helmets. Those skinny N's just look funny and too old fashioned. You don't need and serifs or fancy doo-dads, just wider lines. My 2 cents.

I probably have more respect for Nebraska than any other major team in college football. They are a program with tons of tradition and have classy fans. Their fans have been great to ours in Omaha over the years. I hope we play a home and home with them in the near future so we can return the favor.

Neb. is a sleeping giant, much like LSU was in the 90s. When they wake up, the big 12 better watch out.

People keep saying this, but they really aren't. LSU was the major university in a state with top 3-4 high school talent in the country. Nebraska is in the middle of a cornfield. They have to go to Texas and Oklahoma to get their talent. I think Bo will have a decent team at Nebraska, but never be worldbeaters. Kinda like Ole Miss and Miss. St. Its tough to convince a kid to go play out in the middle of nowhere.

So, what does that say about our 5 National Titles? If it means that our "cornfield" boys were kicking the living piss out of every other team in the country, including schools with "top 3-4 High School talent" then so be it. I'll take it any day.

I like Nebraska. They're my #1 Big 12 team now that Bo is leading the Huskers. Wish him and your whole team the best. I really think the Huskers will be in the Big 12 championship game next year

I have been up in Omaha since 1996. The obnoxious reporting of the reporter that works for the Omaha paper, Shatel, kept me from wanting to be a Husker fan. Now that Pelini is up here, I am pulling for him, but not necessarily the Huskers.
