Did etling even have a check down option on the deep ball that was intercepted?

There was 1 other receiver who was double or triple covered. Dupre was single covered. DE made the right call, no dump off option that I recall on that play, everyone blocking. The throw to Guice was also the right call as he was wide open. Timing is very important on those longer routes and should improve with more reps. Hopefully.

Yep that's what I saw. Miles' is full of shite. When you limit the options that is what happens. In the second quarter they were running out 3-4 receiver sets and it worked. Second half he was playing to run out the clock making it harder on his QB. That is what he has been doing for 5 years and why they can't develop up to their potential.

I'm thinking that practice against LSU's defense is way better than practice against Jax State.

We had a big lead. When you have a big lead, you run the ball and chew the clock up. It's that simple.

Have we diminished to the point where we're looking to run out the clock out against Jacksonville State?

uh, no.

When you have a big lead, you KEEP DOING the things that gave you the big lead. That gives you a BIGGER lead.

Really not that hard to understand.

Yea Miles just doesn't get that. I knew as soon has he threw that pick he would shut his QB down.

Miles got pissed off after all that passing. Pretty sure he raged at all the TE looks.

Rickdaddy and I talked about this the other day and he assured me it is because we don't want to show Alabama our secret playbook.

Did he send you the percentages of effectiveness of 3rd down conversions in games where we're up by less than 7 before 4pm?

JL freshman year crushed Miles from having courage...
Except very next year 2009 had 336 attempts and 2008 with 391att was a bit of an outlier if anything.
336 is only 24 att less than 2005, 32 less than '06..... with a first year starter, a really bad OL, and @100 less total plays.
391att in '08 was @30att more than afore mentioned seasons with #1 pick at QB.
