Going against JSU is not valuable reps.

Etling going against our 2nd string defense, in practice, prepares him better

Only passing 6 times in a half is not going to get it done in November

Surely even you can admit as much

Maybe not. But the way the run game was working why throw? The Jax State defense, like a lot of spread teams is designed to stop throwing, not power running. Think Texas Tech.
LSU did what a smart team is supposed to do; exploit the other guy's weakness. Pretty well wouldn't you say?

Listening to the game on the radio and they were talking with Miles about the first half and Miles replies that the defense was on the field too long and we were going to work on the running in second half to solve that problem.

Why are banging your head?

Running the ball and using all the play clock keeps your defense off the field.

I'm thinking that practice against LSU's defense is way better than practice against Jax State.

Alabama threw 42 times against a cupcake this past Saturday to help prepare their young qb.

Etling isn't a young qb.

This statement is idiotic. The way our offense is playing, all live reps are valuable. Especially with a QB change, when the QB hasn't played in a game in a couple years. The reps were very valuable going into SEC play. Wake up Rick.

Think of it like this, if we had kept going with what was working then other teams might have taken notice.

Now our own fans think we are terrible based on the second half of that game. No way other teams will see the E-Train coming for them.

Please don't think I'm being serious.

No, I would say this is the exact game to work on your most blatant issue

Passing. It's an fcs school. No need to exploit them all game. The purple and gold game is more competitive. Practice is more competitive. Hell, film study is more competitive.

Throw the ball 7 times a quarter vs those teams. Point blank. Because THAT is the problem.

They were even throwing a lot late in the 4th quarter... Les would never do something so unfair.

We had a big lead. When you have a big lead, you run the ball and chew the clock up. It's that simple.

It's not as simple as you're making it out to be. If you're trying to develop a QB, if you're trying to instill confidence in a receiving unit, if you just want to see what other dimensions your offense is capable of achieving then games like this are perfect for stretching your players, your coaches and your game plan.

You see it taking place in games every week all around the country. These games have a purpose and it's not for hiding inside a shell.

I love you people. I really do.

If one, just one, 2nd half pass had gone for a pick six every one of you would have been, "WTF WAS MILES DOING THROWING THE BALL IN THE SECOND HALF WITH A THREE TD LEAD "

Be honest. You know would.
