Defense played lights out. Before you conter it with "It was just Vandy" it was 2 years since the LSU defense played this well. And also, LSU took over in the 4th quarter, something we didn't see at all during the 08 and 09 seasons.

JJ was awful though.

Maybe.

I think Top 15-20 is a safer bet.

The only game last year that I can definitively say Miles outcoached his counterpart was Bama

Mississippi State
West Virginia
Alabama
Texas A&M

I'd probably put Ole Miss here as well if we could ever figure out how to stop the QB read option.

I'd even add UF.....it wasn't his fault the holder f'd up the toss over the shoulder

I can't include Fla, they weren't as good as LSU, if anything Meyer outcoached Miles that day.

West Virginia kept it pretty close considering they had a fresh qb starting on the road with less talent.
Texas A&M just wasn't on the same level as LSU, but I'll give you that one, we destroyed them. Miss St I think Mullen kept it interesting despite the talent differential

Geno Smith was definitely not a freshman. They were less talented but not some horrible degree.

Meh, State kept it interesting with everyone they played last year. Bama had a 17 pt lead at the half, we had a 12 pt lead. They lost to Aub by a FG and to Ark in 2OT

I feel the same bout those who get pissed off over a team doing what EVERY team wants to do and that's win but the win is not pretty enough for them.

I also love the people that bash me for not liking Miles

I don't care if you like Coach or not. No skin off my nose.

If you have a want to harbor a dislike for one of the, if not the most successful coach in LSU history, cause the team/coaches made mistakes but won...knock yourself out.

Agreed. LSU should have beat the frick outta Meyer last year. Defense was outstanding, offense was

Don't get me wrong, I'm a JJ supporter, but considering what we've had at QB the past few seasons one could argue Miles has outcoached his counterpart EVERY GAME LSU PLAYED.

I'm wondering if we would have beat Allbarn last season if we had sCam Newton and they had JJ???

Sounds reasonable.

But to be happy about a w like tenn 2010 just tells you about your perspective.

No reason I can't be happy to have an SEC win no matter how it comes bout.

Now, I can be "pissed off"/disappointed bout the team effort in that win, but still "happy about a w". imo

I've said a number of times that but for our 1st and last drives in the Vol game we pretty much smelled up the place, but that doesn't mean I'm not happy with the win.

Every time I think of this game I think of that Tenn. Kid's melt down on you tube. That was epic.

Holy shite.

Did you just suggest that Miles needs to win a FEW MORE championships before he is considered a great coach?
