No.

How many times do we run the pitch dive a game?

How many times do we run a max protection 2 WR slants?

How many times do we try and run it up the middle when they have 7 guys in the box?

-Same as above. Florida was gashing us in the 4th quarter because our offense kept them on the field.

How many first down passes did our wide receivers drop in that game?

Yea early on they dropped a lot of passes. So Miles went conservative and just tried to win the game by running.

This about sums up your knowledge level. How creative can you get in a passing game when you have a TERRIBLE offensive line in front of your QB that is giving him NO time to throw the football. That isn't lack of creativity.

And umm I would love for teams to put 7 guys in the box and us run up the middle.

They dropped quite a few in the 3rd and 4th quarters as well.

Oh really?? We threw 25 passes in the football game. 11 came in the first half while 14 were in the second half. Good analysis.

We could run some play action off the toss dive. We could run a reverse or counter etc. We are quite vanilla.

Also, nobody is looking for an Oregon style of offense, just more versatility.

Oregon's offense is about 10 plays. They just EXECUTE them to perfection.

Watch and entire game and see how many different formations they run.

It's the execution.

Personal attack. Yea you're cool

Our offensive line hasn't been terrible. They have been improving all year. It's hard losing 2 All American caliber tackles in Hurst and Faulk. Lonergan has been hurt this year. Josh D has been hurt this year. And Williford was out with a concussion.

I'd like to see any other team have the year we have had with all the injuries.

And actually you can be creative still in the passing game.

I also meant to put 7+ guys in the box. My bad on a typing error.

Not really my point at all.

However, you could say that their style of offense lends itself to better execution, because their style of offense is predicated on the defense being UNABLE to execute (ie. defense being out of position). Lets face it, when defenses DO execute against Oregon, they find it much harder to move the ball. Most defenses can't do it for 4 quarters, however.

Our style of offense relies more on overpowering and outwilling your opponent. If your opponent is guessing or has slight hesitation about your next playcall, it becomes much easier to overpower him and out-execute him. Earlier in the year, it was just too easy to guess what LSU would run next which made it much more difficult for the offense to be executed to perfection.

Apples and oranges really.

The offensive line SUCKED against UF. They were terrible. I realize what we have lost on the OL. Hurst is not an All American level player and has not played like one since the National Championship game.

Maybe because he hasn't been on the team?

I dare you to make a video montage of all the first down throws we made this season.

Oh, wait, I already did. Took me 0 seconds, BECAUSE THERE WERE NONE.

Lack of execution of simple plays is what bothers me.

Exactly.

When Arkansas is on offense you can almost expect a crossing route drag route kind of route in a passing play. But it almost always seems to work.

Last week big 3rd down for Arkansas. Somebody, I think LSU called time out.

Arkansas comes out. Drag route across the middle. And Chavis had Minter and Eugene covering it. Everything covered. 4th down. Ark punted.

Is this your defense for your argument that LSUs play calling is not creative enough?

I somewhat agree. Early in the year our offense didn't look very good due to the o-line problems, receivers dropping passes, and breaking in a new QB. Now that things have settled in the offense has been more open, with the exception of a few things that could be addressed.

-It's clear that Mett and receivers were not on same page early in the year(particularly in the redzone), and the coaches were not very confident in them executing(partly why mett has only 11-12 pass TD's). After showing good strides the last 4 weeks, Strudrawa has to call better plays and trust his QB to make the throws in the redzone(cannot win the biggest games hiding your QB). Teams know we want to run it in and will do whatever possible to prevent that in the redzone(can't waste two downs inside the ten yard line running into a brick wall if 7-8 defenders are already in the box).

- If we run what is supposed to be the wildcat, stop using it as a QB sneak with Ware. If Ware lines up and performs more of a read option, he likely gets more momentum than that of a QB sneak, and the defense also has to account for the running back also, instead of only Ware.
