And that was to Vanderbilt.

I’ll sacrifice giving one up to Vandy every year if it mean Bama fumbles on theirs!

The D was so under-rated and was outstanding during the playoffs against the top 2 offenses outside of us.
The points given up against Vandy and Ole Miss never mattered to me, because both games could have still been won by 4 TDs if LSU doesn't knee it out.
I never cared if the D rested guys against Vandy or didn't try as hard in a game we put up 60+.
This is why overall defensive stats don't tell the whole story.
What LSU did to holding Lawrence to 0 TD passes (i think 1 of 11 on 3rd down conversions?) and Etienne to under 100 yards rushing was incredibly impressive. That's two future first rounders? Possibly the #1 overall pick.. to 18 of 37, 234 yards..

Vanderbilt had a lead against LSU in 2019. That is something Alabama can’t say.

And the D only gave up 322 yds to OU - I believe their lowest game total since 2015. Commentators kept saying how Lawrence had so many overthrows; a few rightly gave credit to the coverage. I think Lawrence was scared to death of Stingley (LOL).
