That has nothing to do with it because there's plenty of talent here.

The real answer is nobody politically supports LSU basketball. There's no prominent booster support or political support within LSU's admin. It's simply something nobody cares about surrounded by LSU. Look at the facilities, look at how Wade has to spend money out of his pocket to build the program, then look at how MM is getting support now.

The program does not have the backing from anyone with money. Nobody with money cares about the program and that's where the lifeblood of building starts whether anyone wants to admit it or not. Basketball has been irrelevant to LSU outside a short decade stint or so before baseball took over their spot. It's that simple.

Again. This isn't football. LSU is not going to win big by simply "putting a fence around the state."

I didn’t say that

But LSU will get stomped even worse than this season if they just had a team of mostly Louisiana guys

I certainly didn’t say this

My point is the talent on this team was very underwhelming and a couple of guys from our backyard that went elsewhere would have been better options that what we rolled with this season. And as has been well documented, next season ain’t looking any better.

I realize that the three I mentioned were passed on (or wasted on the bench) with Will Wade. But I just thought Matt McMahon might take a page from Brian Kelly’s book and go find some decent players who might play with some passion and put out a decent product.

LSU will never be a basketball power and the main reason
is because the lack of talent in state of LA doesn't support it

Wow you just admitted your lack of knowledge about sports.

LSU per capita is ranked 4th in the nation that produces NBA players.

There are some nice players in state, but it doesn't produce the talent like Texas and other states.
In order to sustain any success they have to recruit in places where it's difficult to do that.

It's the main reason LSU has been able to sustain the football program once they started keeping that talent in state

Pretty sure that's not it at all. It's a mix of:

1. The big donors aren't giving to basketball
2. Never had a Skip-like coach to build it up to legend status despite that

The main reason is they fired the coach that could get them there over no proof and hired a dud.

The only redemption or indication that there is high level AD support for MBB Would be if they fired McDud and hired Beard.
