Because Alleva is an incompetent AD & F King does not think athletics is a top priority. For proof of both statements see the Les Miles end of the season 2015 & beginning of the season 2016.
I don't disagree with your statements about Jimbo &/or Herman which again stands as proof that Alleva is an incompetent AD. What other AD at a top 10 program lets the fiasco of 2015 & 16 happen & still can only come up with 2 replacement candidates; one who everyone knew was an almost impossible draw & the other who was an unproven "up & comer" who, probably all along, was heading to UT if that job came available.

Same threads, same idiot kids in every thread repeating the same bs over and over. Then, you have a racist idiot that is older (sports tiger) which is even worse than the kids on here. They sound just like the liberals still sound over the presidential electiin. Then you get another dumbass (Jimmy cricket) make up numbers on his record, and you still have people upcoming. Ftr, O is 22-29 in a head coaching position. Furthermore, I haven't seen one person say he talks like us, and not one person say he is a can't miss.

O was at ole piss. Saban would of had a hard time winning there during that time. Les miles won at LSU. He would of had the same record as Coach O if he was at ole piss. You can't win there unless cheating ala Freeze. Let's give coach O a chance at a real school. Go tigahs

OMG
I'm no Sabanista, but LSU wasn't in much better shape when he arrived.

Yeah because Toledo is such a powerhouse program. Saban's just so lucky to not have had any real challenges in his career.

Here's some perspective...Coach O had the worst winning percentage at Ole Miss since Truman was in office.

I know it's fun to make fun of Ole Miss, but their all-time winning percentage isn't much worse than ours.

Gerry started that proccess with Faulk, but faltered with Tepper.
His talent actually played the big part of '01 SEC Champ.

I'm a little tired of this argument. That was ten years ago. By all accounts, he's grown significantly since then. He successfully navigated two stressful situations as interim coach of USC and LSU. Both of which he finished with a winning record.

Nationally, was he a sexy hire? No. I'll give him a chance to prove himself now that he has his program in place.

We're all giving him a chance and we all want him to succeed.

But I'm tired of posters trying to justify his tenure at Ole Miss by saying "He was just at Ole Miss". His predecessor, successor and pretty much everyone else has shown that it's possible to win there more than he did.

His record is what it is. No sense in claiming Saban and Miles would suck in Oxford too as a way to spin O more positively. Let him coach and prove his growth as a HC.

I totally disagree with this. I've been a huge O supporter because he's our coach. Wasn't my first pick but I'll give him a chance and now I'm all in.

I would give him one 9-3 season this season but if next he doesn't elevate the program he's on the hot seat in his 3rd year IMO. If he fails to elevate the 3rd year LSU should be looking for a replacement his 4th and if he finally wins something then I would give him another year after. That's all IF he keeps recruiting at a high level and doesn't have any losing seasons. One season with more than 3 loss's and he's on the hot seat. A losing season he's out period!

I don't disregard his tenure at OM but I also don't discredit what he did at USC and LSU when both programs were in a downward course when he took over. The players lost all hope last season until he rejuvenated the program. Coach O also admitted that he fricked up there and is doing things different now. People can learn from mistakes. Actually the people that I know who aren't afraid to step out, make those mistakes, don't give up, and learn from them, are usually the most successful people in my profession. We'll see

Why are you giving him 9-3 this year? I wanted him slightly over Herman and behind Jimbo. But I won't stomach 9-3 this year. We'll be favored in 10 or 11 games. 9-3 this year and he will need double digit regular season wins next year or I'm out.

I think he's going to kill it, but why are we lowering our expectations?

I'll say this. If you believe half of the rantards on this board, Les Miles was a moron and terrible coach. For all his faults, he was undeniably one heck of a recruiter.

Coach O is as good if not better at this. He's built a solid staff around himself and maintains that he won't meddle when not warranted. Even if he too is a buffoon, I think at worst we get another Les Miles.

In my opinion, he's primed to have a pretty nice run.
