So, what you are saying is those other teams, should they have great QBs it's not because of any efforts spent in the game of "educated guessing," "film," "...evaluations", and the like, but instead is just blind luck. And that no effort need be applied to such an "inexact science," regardless of the money and resources put into same?

Nope. That's not what I'm saying.

I'm sorry your reading comprehension is poor. I suggest you work on it.

I'm sorry people will consider you an idiot, when in reality you're just poorly educated. Good luck in life, friend.

seriously, I want Mett to light it up next season, like a man on fire. But what I don't like is the crap shoot management of the QB position to date. We won 13 in a row last season on mediocre to poor QB play; this is a fact. Mett should've gotten some snaps last season as a "all backup systems check" ahead of the last stretch of the recruiting season (in case he didn't prove in the field, i.e. in game, we adjust recruiting strategy). But that didn't happen. But what did was we get a commitment from a QB blue chipper , lose it, but don't refill it with like quality. The degree of uncertainty in the stable is what I am pointing at. I do know better than to do this in the Rant, but meh, they can learn, can't they?

well we had JR and Flynn, we added RP. Then we went and got the blue chipper Jarrett Lee. We added RS and now we added Mett, Rivers, and Randall. We've had our struggles, but every program goes through a stretch with poor QB play.

and we didn't have mediocre QB play on that 13 game winning streak. We had several games with very good QB play

You continue to make no sense. You have no idea how our 2 redshirt freshmen QBs are developing. All QBs,even highly rated prospects have to be developed and you won't know how good they are until they play. No programs have studs just sitting on the bench waiting their turn.

Multiple posters have brought these points up and you continue to ignore them and repeat the same garbage or say something that makes absolutely no sense, like "You're making my point for me." I don't even think you know what your point is.

Jamarcus ring a bell? Only the number 1 pick...no big deal.

after watching him, I wouldnt have taken him in the first 3 rounds.

dude could throw it out the stadium no doubt, but he wasnt very accurate and he missed open WRs all the time

Ole Gunner didn't want to play in the literal shadow of 8'10" Rivers.

except his completion % and lack of interceptions indicate he was extremely accurate (which he was for a college QB)

No, you're just an idiot when it comes to football related matters.

Like it or not the OP is an idiot. How in the hell is it even possible to have a stable of proven QB's???

I like were LSU is at right now QB wise. JR, rivers and Mett.!

People keep talking about Mett not being proven, but that is not the case. He has played at the Junior college level and was awesome there. Took his team to the championship game and the only reason they lost is because they literally did not have a kicker. No extra point when scoring touchdowns is the only reason they lost.

But back to the point glad to see people point out the OP is missing some gray matter with this post.

Which one of us are they posting Robert Downey Jr. pics of and calling an idiot? I'm not sure you're qualified to grade me.

Mad?

and do you actually care what the posters in this forum usually have to say, much less the criticisms they might make?

more like having a blast being called an idiot by rantards. Out of the lot, I have read one reasonably constructed post from someone who actually read and understood my OP; the rest are emotional rantings from knee-jerk reactions -- because my post is perceived as too critical. Like plucking the pacifiers from a room full of infants.

On the contrary, I stand by what I posted. And, if in fact it turns out that we have good horses in the stable, then I still win the argument; for it means Miles could have utilized one or more of them last season, but chose not to.

I think the point is not so much how good they were coming in, but more about how much they develop WHILE at LSU...for various reasons many seem to be at an underdeveloped point upon leaving. Certainly JR was looked upon differently being the top pick, but had it tough with the Raiders.

But we sure had some strong warning signals in our last 2 wins that seemed to have been totally ignored.

we don't know what we have frankly. WE have tremedous potential..and good size, that much we know..

What we also know is that not one of the back up QB's has ever taken a snap in a live college football game. Pray that Mett doesn't go down.
