We don't need a rock star at QB, just someone the coaches trust. We did not have that this year, and still had the most wins ever. If Met and company can deliver smart play, we can beat anyone we play in the next two years.

I couldn't agree with you more, though having a "rock star at QB" wouldn't be bad either.

F*ing, really? He wasn't even primarily recruited as a QB.

My Lord, you are some different level of dumb.

If it was so easy to have great Qb's then I'm pretty sure every NFL team would have one...

sorry but we had a the number one guy in the mix with GK. who would of thought he would be so flakey as to change his mind cause his mommy cried cause he was going so far away. Damn don't they realize college is time to cut the apron strings. with class studies football and girls when the hell is he going to have quality time with mom and dad.

The Mannings are all out of sons at the present time.... sorry.

Our primary recruting grounds are LA.... who was the last "big time star" QB to come out of LA? Honest Question.... I can't name one.

Perilloux was 5* and declared that he'd win the Heisman 3 or 4 times I believe.

JJ was a 4* and 3 year starter and was an ineffective passer by nearly every measure.

Flynn, JR, and Mauk were not from LA --- Rohan before that?

So - for coming from a State that has not produced a top passing QB in ~12 years --- since Eli Manning (who was NEVER interested in LSU) -- who do you think LSU should have gotten... and don't say OOS -- b/c top QBs from far and wide are recruited by everyone and have a lot of choices, so to focus on them as a "maybe" is not a good strategy and leads to dissappointments like Keil deciding to stay closer to home.

I was excited to see GK committ to LSU, though I didn't understand why he would at the time, what with a premier, top school like Notre Dame in the area? But like I said a while back, I want to see that kid who's 7'6" toss the ball. Granted, the only news I've heard on him is that he's gotten a good grip on the playbook, but I'm still interested. After watching J.R.'s highlights, I want to see him play too, but I'm just overwhelmed trying to remember all these Randle's.

LSU could have Pee Wee Herman, Margaret Thatcher and Perez Hilton as their three QB's for 2012 and that would still be an upgrade from what we've had to endure in recent years.

I can shake a pomp pomp with the best of them. But, no, I'd rather not stick my head in the sand, or trust *CLM completely right now given how he "managed" the last game.

I think I can help you. Please see the following materials:

Recency Bias

Confirmation Bias

Law of Large Numbers

Sampling Bias

After you read those, determine which combination of these fallacies is plaguing you (I suggest it is all of them, but am willing to pare it down if you don't identify with one or more of them) and realize your analysis is askew for a whole host of provable reasons and even if you end up being right about the caliber of the QB stable, you'll be right for the wrong reasons.

seriously, after Mett we have basically an average bunch of horses in the stable,

I think this an unknown. They may be very good, may be average.

Jarrett Lee, Jordan Jefferson, Jamarcus Russell, Ryan Perrilloux, and Zach Mettenberger were all ranked as high or higher than Wilson was coming out of high school. RGIII's offer sheet was horrible compared to guys we have signed and was a dual threat QB. No one thought he would be the passer he became.

Since I have lost faith in the coaches and their ability to develop/evaluate QB's I don't think that is necessary. You need a QB who can read defenses, has confidence and make plays.
