All but one of USC's Bowl wins have come against the Big-11 since 1994.................
Let's see: Since 1994, LSU has beaten Michigan St. (Big 11), Clemson, Notre Dame twice, Georgia Tech, Illinois (Big 11), Oklahoma, Miami and Ohio St. (Big 11) in Bowl games. You lost to Iowa (Big 11) and Texas.
USC during same period: Beat Texas Tech, Northwestern (Big 11), Iowa (Big 11), Michigan twice and Oklahoma. They lost to Texas, Utah and TCU.
So, LSU is 3-1 vs. the Big 11 during the time frame you reference and USC is 4-0. They've played the Big 11 the exact same # of times in Bowl games since 1994 and USC has a better record against them. You think maybe you want to rethink that argument? Oh, and since I read on this board how crappy the ACC, Notre Dame and Oklahoma are every year, where are your wins against "tough teams" in Bowl games?

If they can't beat UCLA, Oregon, Oregon St. and Stanford.......................................
Interesting you'd want to use this argument. With the exception of the 2005 BCS NC Game against Texas, USC has lost ONE OOC game since 2002 - ONE. With FOUR wins vs. the SEC. The four Pac-10 teams you reference are responsible for the four Pac-10 losses USC has suffered in the past four seasons. And, only six in the past six seasons - an average of one per year. Yet, you want to point to the "strength of the SEC" as an excuse for LSU losing to fellow SEC members Kentucky and Arkansas last season, neither of which were ranked at the end of the season. Interesting double standard here.

Was Stanford ranked?

And don't tell me that Carroll didn't petition his team to be in the game before the voting. And once USC was left out, the absolute best outcome they could possibly expect was a 1st place vote in the AP poll.
Part of a coach's role is to be an advocate for his team and do every thing in his power to achieve the best possible outcome for them. What you describe is what any viable coach would do - Miles, Meyer, Saban, Tressel, etc. If you think otherwise, you are not being honest with yourself. Any sincere Tiger fan on this board would have expected the same behavior from Saban if the situation were reversed.

No, and nowhere did I suggest that they were. My point was that a less talented conference team can pull off an upset of another conference team. It happened twice to LSU last year and to USC against Stanford. Oregon, BTW, w/Dixon, was a top-5 ranked team playing at home when they beat USC - and they were favored.

and Ark and KY (top ten) were both ranked when we played them. I don't get your point other than "upsets happen". If that is your point, then yeah...i agree.

Arkansas was 7-4 when you played them, with four of their wins against the following teams: Troy, North Texas, Tenn.-Chattanoga and Florida Int'l. I doubt that they were ranked. And, they proceeded to get blown out in their Bowl game against Missouri. Kentucky WAS ranked, but ended up losing four of their last six games, probably to better teams in each case. Oregon went on a similar losing streak, but only after losing Dixon.

I've congratulated LSU many times on this board on your two NC this decade. And, I'll do it one more time for you, NolaCajun. Congratulations!

Cheers Vegas, now if we could get Reggie to produce like the RB he was at USC.

Hmmm.. USC has two NC's (AP03 and AP and coaches 04), LSU has two Coaches 03, AP and Coaches 07)ow. Not sure what you are getting at? Nowhere does it says third BCS NC or third coaches NC.
You and I both know its the BCS National Championship that matters.

B/C his statement was correct. For some reason LSU fans continue to behave as if USC's AP title from 03 somehow discredits or tarnishes LSU BCS/Coache's NC from the same year.
Shut the frick up.

i was hoping someone would find that.

OU was considered by the media (and me) to be one of the great teams in the last 20 years...gave up less than 200 yards and shut down an offense that repeatedly hung 50 in the Big XII to WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP. OU was pretty tough man.
They gave Miami probably it's worst beating in their history. (yes, I know Miami wasn't that good). Not nearly as tough, but still Miami.
They gave Notre Dame one of the worst beatings in their history...
They gave Va. Tech the worst beating in their history....(notice a trend?) Not a bowl, but VT won the ACC. This was THE single most impressive out-of-conference win by ANYONE last year and the main reason why LSU got to the Dome ahead of the other teams.
I'm not one of the people on this board who think Ohio State sucks and is slow. They're an excellent team and are capable of beating u guys in September. LSU made their defense look pretty bad when they WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP. Ohio State is very well coached, it was just a bad match up.
So LSU has beaten about 4 more good bowl teams than USC has!! Not to mention an incredible 7 wins versus ranked teams last year alone!
Meanwhile, USC continues to be one of the most overrated teams this decade! UCLA, Oregon, Oregon State, STANFORD. Common, gimmie a break. Is USC much better than these teams even though they lost
? YES. But they play down to their competition. LSU doesn't. They can't. Not in their league. No weeks off.
And I hope you're not trying to get into a "who's got it tougher between LSU & USC" argument, cuz you'll get schooled.

Kentucky, Arkansas > Stanford, Oregon State, UCLA
There was a running back @ Arkansas...I think he was #5.
Kentucky had a good QB too.
STANFORD BEAT U WITH THEIR BACK UP QB ON THE ROAD!! Think about that. U guys beat them, u beat Ohio State for another BCS Title. That must really keep USC fans up at night.

YES! And u guys play in the friggin' Holiday Bowl if Dixon doesn't go down in Arizona. Think about that for a second.

i don't hate usc at all. I just hate the media love fest for the trojans. They are a great program with a great coach. But damn if they would lose 6 games i still think espn would be talking about how they somehow still should be in the MNC game.
Good answer. The venom toward USC is perpetuated by the media bias toward their program. Losing McKnight was disappointing yes. Booty...no way. I'll take Flynn. Bush helped haul Mcknight out of Louisiana. No hard feelings about losing McKnight when our stable is brimming with other capable Louisiana running backs!!

well mr. usc fan....umm hemmm let me remind you of our record since 2000 vs. the pac 10
oh yeah thats right we are undefeated. .... so you are undefeated against sec as we are against the pac 10.... but let me ask you this.... who else from the wac 10 has a national championship ...az state??? 1996...
